Walk up ordering. Sit where you like. HUGE portions. We went around 1pm on a Saturday & it was pretty empty, but they had lots of orders over the phone come in for pickup during our time there. Establishment was clean & staff was kind! The food was good! The batter on the mushrooms was a little thick & crunchy for my taste, but still tasted fine! We also had mozzarella sticks, loved how the cheese stretched out & it was so tasty! The French fries were great! Strawberry shake was yummy & huge! They had several TVs with different programs on it. Our favorite was the trivia TV! I had the sammich deluxe & it was very juicy!

We were in town for an overnight stay and found AJs online. It looked inviting and was within walking distance. We walked in and figured out you order at the counter and then sit down. The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful. After a short discussion we ordered. Wife got 6 buffalo and I got 6 of house BBQ. Wow, the sauce was awesome. The house BBQ is a great blend of sweet/spicy. We also got fries, which were fresh and tasty. Next time we are in this area we WILL be visiting again.

If you’re a wing lover like me this is the place! I’ve tried plenty of their sauces and I’m always left completely satisfied. The customer service is pretty good too! If you’re passing through Portales, visiting your child in college, or just hungry, this is the place to go!

Really good food. Staff were nice. Kinda wish they had draft beer, but they do have fountain soda and bottled soda. I got the veggie wrap and husband got wings with the ghost sauce and green chili sauce. Ghost sauce was suuuper spicy but had good flavor. Pictured is the appetizer samples which was also really yummy.

We ordered AJs for dinner one Friday night. We ordered 2 orders of strips and a sandwich and wrap. We got home 25 minutes later only to realize there was no sauce on the wrap or sandwich. I called to ask about it and the girl who answered said the sauce was indeed forgotten. We were told Aaron the manager or owner would call about a refund. Well we got no call or money back. The order was $68.00. I hate to not shop at local restaurants but it’s kinda hard to spend money when quality isn’t guaranteed.

Moving to NM and couldn’t find a chicken place anywhere for months then I heard about AJ’s yum yum I crave it when we’re in Texas can’t wait to live there closer next year oh and YOU must try the assorted appetizers with those giant out of this world cheese sticks I have never ate any better I dream of them….the friend pickles and mushrooms are delish also
