Food taste fine. But basically the taste of heavy sauces; pretty much overwhelmed the taste of meat. Meat quality is not as good for the price. Uni is a bit disappointing: loose pieces not so fresh, with heavy wasabi.

Good food, adequate service, inviting cozy space. Adequate portion sizes on sushi, real crab in rolls serving crab. NO air conditioning, and happened to be exceptionally hot today, and was placed at a seat next to a window with opaque shading, which added to the heat. Was probably over 90F inside at 6p. Understanding that there was only one server with an older helper, I might be able to justify why she never asked if I wanted any more food (or additional beverage), but it would have convinced me to have another. Perhaps they’re always busy, and moving me along makes them more $$ overall. 4 Stars, 1 demerit for no AC and server being 4 stars.

A hidden little place with high quality food. The nigiri was fantastic and actually adhered to the rice. The specialty rolls had so much body and flavor, and nothing fell apart while you were eating it. We had some sea urchin as well and found it to be quite fresh. We very much enjoyed this place.

The sushi was great. The vegetarian sushis was on the small size and doesn’t really make you full. If you’re vegetarian, I would skip Akami. Otherwise, normal pricing as what you should expect living in the Bay Area. I got 3 different sushi rolls and paid about $50. Portions are also on the small side.

They made sushi with a thin piece of fish and rice soaked in soy sauce. For one nigiri, the fish fell apart.. the Karaage was soggy and over-salted. They didn’t offer ginger with sushi, lemon with Karaage.
