I ordered a large pizza to go, based on the owner’s profile I was expecting some authentic Italian NY style pizza. I’m a native New Yorker and have traveled to Italy over the years. I must say, I’ve had better pizza from a supermarket. There wasn’t enough sauce, the mushrooms were not fresh and appeared to be from a can. There was plenty of leftovers, because my family didn’t like it either. I may return to try a different dish, only because it’s close by and I believe in second chances.

There is a reason why this place is consistently voted the “Best of Suffolk.” The staff is so sweet and the food speaks for itself. Honestly, every dish I have had there I have loved, but you should definitely try the tortellini Alfredo (pictured)

I had a taste for some good pizza but didn’t feel like driving across town. This was my first time ever trying this place but thought I would give it a try. I’ve lived down the street from Al Forno’s for about 18 months but didn’t think they were open because when I would drive by it wouldn’t be a lot of cars. I’m so glad I decided to try their pizza. I met the owner and he assured me I would love it and he was right. I’m so glad I decided to go my veggie pizza with spinach was the best I’ve had since I moved here from Texas. Delicious food and plenty to choose from. The Baked Ziti was delicious and hot, the sauce wonderful and their side salad was fresh. The blue cheese was very good. The only downside is the garlic bread was hard.

Always love this restaurant … Authentic Italian dishes. Just awesome. The place is small, so take-out is a good option too. Pizza comes in all sizes. It is frequented by old timers and pasta-lovers. Waiting place is a small area with a small bench.

I am fairly new to Virginia i come from New York and when i tell you hands down this is one of the best pizza i had in the state of Virginia it reminds me of home and if I’m ever in Suffolk this will be where i be ordering my pizza. We do enjoy going to this restaurant frequently. Many a times after working in the yard we will order out. My family agrees they have the beat chicken parm sub around. We love the pizza also. The service had s always been friendly. The wait staff has been consist. To me, that means that they must love working there.
