Disappointed. Made a special trip since I remembered a nice meal here a couple years ago–but discovered they’ve changed hands (twice!) since then. Largely French inflected steak menu now with some obligatory pastas. Nice wine selection by the glass. Decent oysters to start, good vichyssoise and French onion soup then things went downhill with the smoked salmon platter being cold smoked pasty salmon with grocery store mini bagels; burrata and heirloom salad included cherry tomatoes as the “heirlooms” and was unseasoned. Service was fine. Good luck current owners.

Thoroughly enjoyed food here. Favorites were the pate (really good with a glass of sauv blanc) lamb bourguignon and tornedos rossini. Rolls and dessert were also good. Only a 4 for service, simply due to timing. We were at the end of a busy dinner rush for server, so things were a bit longer than expected. Rhonda did great at communicating the situation and helped make our experience very pleasant.

The place was amazing honestly. First time I was there and they were really nice and professional. Food was amazing and honestly planning on going back there again. Got the new York strip and it was really good and their onion soup was to die for.

The vibe and atmosphere nice. At first took a while for our waiter to show up but after that the service was really fast and good! The food was tasty and delicious and well presented! The only down side was the glasses were not really clean, plates were chipped! We found flies inside around the table and splash of food stuck on glass! So wish it was cleaner and better like the food.

On our last special trip to Port Townsend we dedicated our Friday evening to check out Alchemy. I am happy to report it didn’t let us down in any way.

Any restaurant can have a bad day. On a Saturday night, they were out of 3 of the 5 special appetizers. The service was slow, but they had received a number of unexpected customers at the bar. Once we were served, the service was prompt and efficient. The cocktails were good and tasty. The atmosphere was very nice, cozy and warm. I ordered the rib eye steak, and I have to say it was one of the worst I have ever had. The preparation was to order, medium. The steak itself however, was at least a third fat and gristle. The grade could not have been even choice. They did take the two drinks off the tab and gave us a free desert. This appears to be a good restaurant. They were turning people away if they didn’t have a reservation. If I was in the area again, I would go there.

Delightful dinner at Alchemy last week. First time in, but it won’t be our last. Server was kind and engaging – she thought I looked like an old friend and we had some fun with that.

Chef Adam brings his years of experience to lovely Port Townsend. The only fine dining in town. Food is great and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Reservation is strongly recommended for the weekends and during the summer.

The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. They were able to get us in last-minute which we were very grateful for given it was the holiday weekend. Price-wise, it was a little spendy but not bad. The drink prices reflected LA vs. PT given the other places we went to. Still a great meal and worth a try for a perfectly cooked steak!
