I searched for Chicago style pizza and this place came up. I ordered the “Detroit Dish” pepperoni. It is right on North Massanutten Street. There is plenty of parking outside. There are approximately 5 tables inside. The tables are wooden slat top. You can see from my picture that the restaurant is very close to the road. The Detroit Dish has pepperoni with marinara sauce dripped across the top.

I thought I have tried the best pizza when we traveled to Chicago, IL. I was WRONG… We stopped here on our way back home to CT from GA during our weekend trip & I must say, Wowww… Service was pleasant & our food came out very quick. The wings were very flavourful & crisspy. The pizza was so Cheesy, yummmm- so CHEESY. It was Amazing, you can taste the quality in their crust & cheese. The ingredients were fresh & the crust was soft. I ate what I would describe as the “Perfect” slice of Pizza. Thank you so much for your service.

We have gotten pizza from this place multiple times. It’s been amazing and the best around every time until today. Took the pizza 10 minutes down the road home, and it was a mess. Missing pepperoni and obviously not done right to begin with. Then called About it being a mess and really showing an attitude in everything she said. So overall met with a rude horrible experience over the phone. Accusing sliding in our car of being the reason it was a mess. When it didn’t slide anywhere at all actually. Then throws our pizza on the ground when we get there and giving even more of an attitude before finally giving us our refund. Loved the place and have always had a good experience before this. Won’t be back now though as this person clearly has issues.

I had the personal “The Italian” pizza. Crust was perfect, sauce was amazing. Husband had the steak and cheese sub. He says it was awesome. Fresh and full of flavor. Onion rings and fries were perfect too.

We usually order from here 2-4 times a month because it is the best pizza in town (not that the competition is tough here), but the glass shard in the pizza of our most recent order makes me greatly question kitchen practices. If a big one made it into the pizza, who knows how many small ones fell in, too. If anything breaks anywhere even slightly near food in a kitchen, the food should be redone.

Had a very nice conversation with the new owner and his front of the house guy. The Baked ziti was much better than another local Italian place because it was actually cooked and not still dehydrated. The Garlic Knots were delicious. Saving the Margaritta pizza for tomorrow because the ziti was enough to share. Welcome to the neighborhood Brandon and crew.

I MUST CHANGE MY PREVIOUS FIVE STAR REVIEW: Tried their pizza one day in May for a birthday luncheon. We had wine on the deck, enjoyed the conversation, didn’t have to slave over a stove, or worry about ‘driving’ any place. And before we knew it, Voila! Our Pizza was delivered in a timely fashion. Everyone said, the pizza was great! UPDATE: TODAY, I ordered a 12″ Vegetarian Pizza, telling my friends, this is the best! I was rather embarrassed after taking the first bite and much to my disappointment, it was horrible. This pizza had a sour taste, veggies were scant with a few black olives, bits of green raw pepper, tasteless onion, actually the whole thing was LOUSY. Four of us each ate a slice and we all agreed, not good and it left a nasty aftertaste. The other two slices will be pitched out (I’ll keep them overnight as evidence if I get sick).

This was our first visit to Alforno’s. We had the New Yorker Slice Pie. The crust was thin, tasted great and was sooo big!. I am going to go back to try their other items. Go check them out. You won’t be disappointed.
