Alouette never fails to amaze. I had the coulotte with crostini and chicken liver pate and it was incroyable! Small but constantly changing menu gives you a fresh experience every time but you come to trust the staff and chefs more and more with each visit. Stellar presentation and the Wing Over signature cocktail was delish. If it isn’t obvious from this review so far I will be going back to see what new culinary treasures await. Thanks Alouette for the birthday dessert without all the singing and fanfare. You all are the best. Thomas was and always is a delight.

Fantastic! My fiance-now-wife came here after our elopement for an intimate and lovely dinner. The service was amazing and the food was delicious! Our server Thomas was so kind and brought us some ice cream and champagne to celebrate. I would love to come here again, thank you Alouette.

We had such an amazing brunch date!! This space is SUCH A VIBE!! So adorable and cozy! The food was bomb, my favorite was the sizzling beef! Our server was so kind and even gave us the recommendation of making the sizzling beef into a little sandwich with the yummy piece of bread that comes with it! (She was right, it made it even better!!) I can’t wait to go back for dinner soon!

We were so excited to try a new restaurant in our neighborhood. Overall we had a great time, everything was tasty. Our favorite dishes were the tuna crudo, the scalloped potatoes and the steak. Cocktails were good and the atmosphere was nice, although the space is small so you may need a reservation if your going during a busy time. Everything on the menu is small plates, and small portions so you will need to order accordingly. We ordered 6 dishes between 2 people and it was just enough. We will definitely be back since it’s close to us and the food was delicious.

If there was an option to give a trillion stars to Alouette, I’d give them all of the stars in a heartbeat! I had a Friendship Kitchen + Alouette Sunday brunch and it was perfect in every way! The sizzling beef (bò né) was especially tender and delish. I’ve been searching far and high for a spot in Portland that serves Vietnamese sizzling beef and Alouette + FK brought back those nostalgic flavors. The pot au feu feels like a big warm hug in a bowl! The beef carpaccio was luxurious and addictive! Their cocktails are just as fun and delish. Plus, the crew here are the sweetest people ever! A win win.

We made reservations beforehand for the outdoor dining. That is really convenient because a lot of places in town don’t do reservations for brunch and your stuck waiting. We had the pavé potatoes and Vietnamese French toast. Both meals were reasonably priced and you can taste the high quality in the ingredients. The French toast was delicious, topped with a flavorful coffee whip cream and caramelized pineapple was something I’ve never had before. Best part was it was not too sweet like other French toasts I’ve tried. My partner had the pavé potatoes. Both dishes were equally delicious and we traded halfway because we couldn’t decide which one was the best. The mushrooms were yummy not sure variety but tasted wild. The poached egg was perfectly runny. We will definitely return.

Alouette, Je vous aimerai toujours!!! We have visited for dinner and brunch. Both experiences have been absolutely lovely. Service on both visits was friendly, knowledgable and welcoming from all of the staff. We had a delightful welcome from Trang, one of the lovely ladies who own the restaurant. Ambiance is art forward and sexy, perfect for dates or smaller, intimate groups. The Vietnamese-French fusion menus are completely unique in Portland. For brunch, I highly recommend the Pommes Pave, Fruit & Beet Parfait and Avo Toast (they will kindly hold the bacon). Every dish is an authentic work of art!

I hate to leave such a harsh review, but we were pretty disappointed in this spot. The food had some flaws and was generally underwhelming. For a tiny place that was only half full of customers, we had to wait unnecessarily long for our drinks (just 3 glasses of wine, no cocktails) and food. There were some pretty big misses with the food. The mussels were overcooked, broth was good but nothing original or exciting. We ordered a side of bread which was $7.00 for a scrawny portion of bread, which also wasn’t anything exciting. When we asked for more bread for the muscles, we were charged another $4.00 for another smaller portion of bread. The salad was good and interesting, but tiny for the price of $17. The trout ($34.00) was undercooked, and I say that as someone who generally likes my trout/salmon on the rarer side of medium rare. But it was completely uncooked through the entire center, to the point it was just kind of slimy. The portion of the trout was also very small, about half the size of the portion in pictures other folks posted. The sauce was fine. The piece of trout was served with 6 cherry tomatoes. No one at the table was very happy about their dishes. It was one of those meals that was so unfulfilling that I had to get dinner somewhere else afterwards. There are places in Portland where you can get a much better plate of food at the rates they are charging. They are going to need to make some changes in order to survive.
