We decided to try Alpine after hearing about it. We went on a Sunday evening for a drink and a bite to eat. Place was small and very dark. We grabbed a side table, that was dark, and the table was dirty. Ordered a couple of glasses of wine (that were not chilled and warm) and ordered something to eat. I was very skeptical when the grill that was located in the bar looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. I ordered a burger and fries, and my husband ordered the steak sandwich – medium rare. We got our food, and my husbands steak sandwich was way over cooked and our fries were dark (due to oil) but undercooked – raw on the inside. Burger was cooked, but we left with a burnt taste in our mouth. Don’t think we could recommend or go back there again. By the way, bartender that we knew from another bar/restaurant was there cooking the food, and not trained to cook. Yuck.

It has been years since we have been here, our trail rides typically don’t take us in this direction. But lately we decided to head more southeast from our home on Lake Minocqua. I remembered this place from about 8-9 years ago when my kids were little and had a great time here and good food. This past weekend I was with my daughter and decided to revisit this place. When we arrived, I immediately noticed mostly locals were there, no doubt for lunch. That’s when you know they’re doing something right if the locals think so too. Our visit was great, we were met by a great bartender, very polite and helpful. The food they were cooking on their grill looked delicious! Even though there were signs on the wall indicating no table service, as we were talking together the bartender came over by us and asked if we wanted another round. His timing was perfect and really appreciated him taking the extra initiative to take care of us. A really great little place to stop, warm up and enjoy a couple beers or cocktails and of course their food looked fantastic. They also have gas for you should you need it! Nice place, friendly people, will definitely make this stop more often! Thanks!

The locals are great! Tim was friendly, accommodated all our needs, Scottie is a great bartender, he is point on with cooking and serving his patrons! THE ALPINEBURGER was delicious!!! We stayed in the cabin it was clean and well maintained!! Thanks for making our week stay great!!

Decent grill burger. Greasy in all the right ways. Only three bud/miller beers on tap and Spotted Cow in bottles. I know it’s the Wisconsin north woods but they need to update their beer selection. I’m sure the owners tell themselves that’s all that people want to drink there but they’re wrong. Most other bars and resorts in the area have better craft beer choices.

What a awesome place! The food is Great ! Beer is cold. View of the lake is breath taking. The owner Tim is fantastic, and his staff, will take really good care of you. Just a all around vantastic place to go ! Looking forward to the next trip to alpine. For a relaxing time,check out the deck by the lake. It really doesn’t get any better then this.
