I honestly love a place where they have a roll of paper towels on the table, it is usually a good sign… as it was tonight. Al’s is most certainly a hole-in-the-wall… with paper posters that have advertisements for beer and other alcohol on them on all the walls… AND it was packed. Burgers, sandwiches, and well talked about and much beloved wings. Bar food. Good, well priced bar food. We started out with cheese curds… demolished them, hot, gooey and plentiful. I ordered the fish and chips and the waiter was accomodating and patient as i changed up the order for sides of onion rings and cottage cheese instead of waffle fries and slaw. My son had the 20 piece wings, HOT. Nice size, meaty wings. Perfectly crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside… slathered with hot sauce. Very, very good. Just loved chomping down while hearing Elvis Presley singing Suspicious Minds in the background. I know this is the burning question, did we use the paper towels? Yes we did, turned them orange!

It’s doesn’t make any sense how good the chicken wings are. If you like them hot then order them hot cause medium barely had any kick. The skin is perfectly crispy and the chicken tender. Mind you, I order these to go and they traveled very well.

I was happy to find an individually owned and operated restaurant that serves great wings. I have been so tired of BWW and the other national chain wings restaurants low quality food and service. I was in KC for the holidays and found Al’s bar & Grille.

Best chicken wings in KC, definitely Buffalo authentic, right down to the blue cheese dressing. Great place to watch the Bills, too! Highly recommend for any NY transplants. Crowd is a bit rowdy during games, but never seen a rude or obnoxious person in the place. Welcoming middle aged crowd is what I usually see here. Food and drink prices are below average for KC. Lots of parking, as it’s a shared strip mall lot.

I’ve been here a couple of times because I keep hearing about their wings. Hadn’t been back in a while so I tried it again for lunch. The place wasn’t busy, so no issues getting a table. The waitress came by quickly and often to take the order, refill drinks, and simply to check if everything was alright. So, not overly crowded, great service, and a reasonably nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the wings just don’t live up to the hype. They aren’t bad, but there is absolutely nothing special about them either. They are some of the most basic wings that I’ve eaten. The “hot” sauce is relatively mild. These were about what I’d expect as an appetizer at Chili’s…bland and generic so as not to offend anyone.

Some of the best wings I’ve had in KC. The pictures explain everything. I could eat a wing right now.. The wait staff treats you like family. Surprisingly clean bathrooms. Overall my family had a great experience and we will be back.

I absolutely love this bar. It is the only bar that I will ever leave my drink alone on the bar and feel safe that nobody has done anything to it. Because everyone in there will always look out for the patrons and protect them. I trust this bar that much!!! It is also the cheapest bar to drink in. No other bar would ever match their prices.

My only complaint is that the place is sometimes so packed we have to pick up. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is unbeatable. This is the best wings you can get.
