Tried Altamura for the first time yesterday (3/28/23) and I cannot say enough about my experience. Carmela was a saint and treated us with the best customer service you could ask for. As for the pizza, I was ecstatic with what I was tasting for the first time. The pizza has a light sauce that is impactful, but not too heavy and dominates the pie. The ingredients are all fresh and REAL. The crust had that signature crunch that most pizza places want but can’t achieve. All in all, ordering from Altamura is a proverbial slam dunk in the pizza game.

I stopped in for the first time yesterday. The staff was amazing, offered suggestions, made great conversation, and was super friendly. I built my own pizza and the ingredients were all fresh and delicious. I also ordered the arancini and they were the best I’ve had in the Chicagoland area.

I have been a type 1 diabetic for most of my life. Eating pizza can be frustrating with this disease, as the digestion of the food can make adjusting insulin levels difficult. This pizza, however, does not cause delayed hyperglycemia (weird, I know). You can bolus and still be ok at 3am. lol. In addition to this, the taste is amazing (buy the pesto) and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Our family loves getting this pizza and would suggest that you join the club 🙂
