Great vibe, and the beer is fantastic. But the food doesn’t match the price. Pictured burger (ordered medium) was about as far into well done as could be. At $18, would expect some level of wow or unique, but was just plain disappointing.

Great date night spot! My wife and I came on a Thursday night for dinner. The ambiance is great, you’ve gotta get a spot on the patio. We got a delicious lemonade cocktail and beer flight to start. Our app was the chili shrimp, a must! Lastly our entres were the smash burger and the beef brisket, great choices. This is a great spot for friendly gatherings too. Such a good spot on the river!

Amazing beer and amazing staff. Everyone was friendly and the ambigram hazy ipa was top notch but the food is horrible. The salad had so little flavor that we thought they forgot dressing. They brought another cup of dressing and it just had zero flavor. I mean zero. I think there was a mix up in back and we just got oil. Also the fish n chips was soft and mushy. Definitely come for beer not for $20 frozen food.

Very friendly and efficient service, good cocktails and beer menu, the Jalapeño poppers and Fried Pickles were awesome apps with good portions. The salmon was awesome and my girlfriend really enjoyed the blackened cod. Sat on the patio right next to the river. A great experience over all and we will be back!

Never once have I walked into Alter St. Charles and been disappointed. The staff is very kind and attentive, being right on the river is nice, and the beers are fantastic. Their mocktails are delicious and each time the food is better than the last! I am nervous to order a steak sandwich from anywhere after having theirs. Plus, who doesn’t love a Coming to America pun?!
