Located on a bright downtown corner, Altro Paradiso serves chef-owner Ignacio Mattos’ light, satisfying takes on Italian cuisine: a beloved fennel salad with provolone cheese, arancini dipped in Calabrian chili oil, and house-made candele cacio e pepe, to name but a few classics. Though Altro frequently ranks among the best places to eat in New York City, it’s a pretty laid-back place that tends to attract quite a few regulars from the neighborhood.
Modern takes on traditional Italian cooking in an airy, wood-accented space with a marble bar. Based on 612 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$$

First meal in NYC at Altro Paradiso on Spring Street. Italian restaurant known for its pasta dishes. Food was fine but not spectacular. Martinis were ok.

New American style Italian spot where everything is done just right – good ambiance (day and night, bar and dining room), consistently well executed and curate menu with seasonal ingredients, nice wine selection, reasonable price, friendly service, and easy reservations. Other than their ricotta spread and pasta, highly recommend the charcuterie plate, grilled fish, and their silky panna cotta and very dark chocolate torte.

One of the best burgers in New York. Interior is beautiful and service is great. Also fries comes with the amazing burger was so good. It’s one of the best fries I’ve ever had. And the flavor balance of Panna cotta is fantastic.

Tasty!!! Great fun Italian joint. Noisy but very hip. Great pastas and I loved the German sausages. All the apps are wonderful as well. Lots of fun to eat here. It seems odd to say, but the olives here were really outstanding as well. We loved this place. Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 17 million views in 2021 and we thank you for that. This place was okay. The highlight was the bread and ricotta, if you are going here definitely get the bread and ricotta. The rest of the meal fell a bit flat. The wagyu burger was a little busy and unharmonious in terms of flavor, too much happening. The spaghetti fell a bit flat. Atmosphere was nice, lots of space, and service was good.

Lovely place service was so good everyone was obsessed with the bread and ricotta, and the Calabrian chili that comes with the arancini. The staff was very accommodating to our family we are always late and kind of boisterous. Get the fennel salad it is so refreshing.
