I was headed to a restaurant in town that happened to be closed, for whatever reason, when I arrived. So I stumbled upon the Alumni Grill and decided to give it a shot. The outside of the business is a bit misleading as once you enter the restaraunt, there are actually lively people enjoying their meals, color and decoration inside, and smiling staff. I ordered the Alumni Burger and it was really good. I also had a chocolate shake (which I considered more a malt) that was especially tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would return here again. I felt that the food wait time was a little lengthy, but that can be tolerated a little when the food is right.

My very first visit to this bar and grill and I was blown away! I am on the WW Plan and was skeptical about the menu but please hear me when I say that their grill person grilled the most salacious cauliflower Patty I have ever tasted along with grilled (yes, I said grilled) broccoli! Our wait staff, Ouida, was the quintessential waitress (hostess) by far! Thank you Ouida for the hospitality and I will see you again Monday.

We has The LA1 Ranch salad and Alimni burger with onion rings. They were both delicious. I called in the order and it was ready on time. The salad and onion rings are gluten free.

Ugh. Where do I begin? I really have a lot to say, but I’m going to make this brief. The food was over priced, over cooked (in the case of the ribs), or not cooked enough (in the case of the steamed broccoli), or not flavorful enough (in the case of the mac and cheese and the bread pudding). My brisket sandwich was “meh” at best. And shouldn’t brisket be pulled or shredded or even sliced, not CUBED? What was THAT about? Anyway, the best thing I ate were the onion straws appetizer, which were oily. But at least they tasted good. I don’t plan to return anytime soon. I’ll give them some time to work out the kinks.

I ate the cauliflower burger with a house salad it was delicious. My friend ordered the cauliflower burger with a Cobb salad and she said it was the best she’s ever tasted. We finished it off with a piece of Mardi Gras cheesecake, to say it was so good, is an understatement, it was absolutely delicious. Service was quick, server extremely helpful and friendly, overall experience was wonderful. Will certainly go back

This place is absolutely the worst place I have eaten in a really long time!! There was no crowd. We were seated pretty quickly. We ordered onion strings as an appetizer and they took 15 minutes to come out but the kicker was they were cold!! Then it took another 25 minutes for a burger, a child’s burger and a roast beef poboy to come out for which the waitress apologized but again everything was cold and tasted so old. I am so upset that we wasted our money going here while visiting my alma mater. Then to add insult to injury when we told the waitress she said the manager would give us a free bread pudding. Why would we want bread pudding when everything was awful??? And guess what…so was the bread pudding!! It was terrible. Don’t waste your money. Go anywhere but not here!!! If I could give it less stars I certainly would.

Best burgers in the parish!! Best ice cream shakes in the state!!! Everything is fresh and made to order. Even the chicken strips are amazing! Family friendly, great for bringing business associates, great for couples. I hope they always keep their quality standards high. Great wait staff, too!
