Stopped in to the newest addition of the Alvarado Brewing family at 5pm on a weekend night. We’re seated at two lounge chairs by the entrance. The service was quick and very attentive. Even though the place was at max capacity, the noise level was not overwhelming and you could easily have a discussion. We had the pesto chicken pizza and it was great. I had two of their newer beers. The Grand National, a double IPA was good and easy to drink. The CRUIS’N U.S. HAZE triple IPA was outstanding and one of the best triple IPAs I have had. Highly recommend!

Very cool spot to grab a taco and a beer! Alvarado is my favorite brewery, and this is my new favorite place to enjoy beer. The Art Deco vibe and large open space make this a must see. The beer and food make it a must try!

A little noisy, but great otherwise. Great food, super selection of beer. Our server was very good, helpful and accommodating. You can set up your own tasting as well. Choose the beers you want and they bring as many as six in a flight.

8/1 Updated: Alas, in the blink of an eye it’s finally open! Alvarado Street Brewery: the radical fun loving and well championed brew producers in the world of beer today, is back, and now wearing a fur coat and a string of pearls.

I thought the food was great, however we ordered a dozen oysters as an appetizer and received our entrees at least 10 minutes prior. They need at least one more shucker. Their sole shucker was busy, but it was good. Besides that, I had the fish tacos…excellent. my wife had the lobster roll. She enjoyed it. Good for drinks and eating early but as the night wore on more of a bar type atmosphere.

Service was great! Both times I went this past week we were greeted and seated almost immediately. The interior is beautiful yet very comfortable.

My wife and I were driving down Main Street Salinas in the Old Town district and while stopped at a traffic signal, we admired the beautiful facade of an old Art Deco building. Upon further review, it turns out that this building is the home to a brewpub. It was lunchtime on a Thursday and so we decided to give it a try. The exterior of the building was just a tease. The interior of this former bank building has been recently renovated as well. It is a voluminous space with lots of fine deco details. Beautiful bar in the center is a focal point for the space. There is a second story mezzanine which is probably used for overflow dining but did not appear to be in use on this day. It’s a very impressive, comfortable, and inviting space. The mood and ambiance is slightly elegant but definitely casual.

You can never go wrong with Alvarado beers and food as well. The crispy cauliflower lived up to its name. Definitely crispy and delicious! The butternut squash tacos with shishito peppers? Whoahhh, yum yum! The pizza with white sauce and crimini mushrooms and brie, mouthwatering! We got our fave Mai Tai on tap as well as Howz It Punch but too bad they didn’t have the mai tai 4 pack to go.
