My wife and I love ramen, and Ama exceeded our standards of what we consider great ramen. The drinks, brussel sprouts, and service were all excellent as well. We also enjoyed the open air nature of the place; even sitting at the bar, you could experience the outdoor atmosphere. The only “con” I can think of is there were a few critters because of how open it is (insects, lizards, etc) so some may be put off by that, but thats just the nature of their atmosphere and honestly the island as a whole. Would definitely go back!

AMA is my favorite dining experience on Kauai. The restaurant feels like someone’s home with an amazing back patio. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks are consistently good. Whenever I’m planning a Kauai visit, making an AMA reservation is at the top of my to-do list.

Nice place with incredible view. Food is delicious. We had bao buns and ahi tuna ramens. I would recommend making a reservation or come earlier, there was a line before they open.

Food was dang good. It’s been a while since I’ve been out for ramen. I was very impressed. I always feel like appetizers are a sell from the waiter but I’m so glad he mentioned them. Flavor explosion. The best sprouts I’ve ever had, by far. Dan Dan noodles were wonderful. I added one of the side spices and that made them perfect. I loved that they had dishes for the kids too!

Simply amazing. Pro local tip: Get there early (if you don’t have reservations). They will seat you after the reservations. We had 2 ppl so it was incredibly easy and fast. The staff is top notch. The Brussel spouts are to die for as well as the rest of the dishes. Save your money and time by prioritizing AMA (loved by locals) over some of the other establishments sometimes touted like “beach house”. Skip beach house and go to AMA twice! Sooo good.

Loved this restaurant and our meal here was one of the best we had on the island. I was a bit worried after reading some reviews that the food portions were small but whoever felt that way–I’m not sure what they’re used to eating. We were all stuffed by the end. We tried almost all of the different Ramens between us and each one was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive and the wait for our food was quick. We had a reservation at opening so we were sat immediately. Food was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was nice. Hard to beat the beautiful mountain views while you dine.

Pros: Almost everything we ordered was fantastic. The view is amazing and the atmosphere feels slightly upscale but somehow still easy going and comfortable. There is a selection of mocktails that aren’t just plain old boring things available everywhere. The peanut butter pie dessert was the best thing I ate in a long time! They take reservations…we were seated immediately upon arrival.

Always an AMAZING meal at Ama! The menu is small but smart and well executed. My faves are the Green Papaya Salad, Burmese Salad, Brussel Sprouts & Seared Ahi Ramen- but it’s all really delicious. Their wine selection is well thought out and the staff is friendly and personable!

The view is well worth going, but the food was amazing too. You are nestled below the mountains and surrounded by luscious foliage. We started with nuoc sham Brussels sprouts and they were amazing. We finished with chashu ramen and the dandan mazeman and we fought to finish it all because it was so good, but TONS of food. Would highly recommended, get a reservation the night before. It fills up fast
