Food was great. Unfortunately, the employee at the register was not paying attention to my order. After repeating back to her a fairly simple modification (steak and cheese with no peppers), the prep time was very long, and when I received my sandwich, it still had all the peppers one might normally receive. Upon returning the sandwich, I again, had to repeat my request not just to the same employee, but made sure her colleague who was actually building the sandwiches heard and understood. By the time the oven finished, the small rush of customers had drained out, and I was left standing to watch as my sandwich came out of the conveyor oven and sat at the end while the employee who took my order originally had come down the line to chat and distract the others who were trying to work. One had to ask me what I was waiting for, and said to the others “Hey! Wrap that! He’s been waiting for it.” At least everyone was friendly about it, but the whole visit took much longer than it normally would or needed to.

Ordered a classic cold cut italian, ended up with a original Italian sandwich. The sandwich consisted of one slice of ham and one slice of cheese, it was barely recognizable. I was born in New York city, I have been a Chef fo more than 40 years and the Bread you are using is not Italian as it should be soft inside and crunchy on the outside. But as your cashier told me you have been in business since 1902, so you must be doing something right.

Stop by aMattos today on the way home from the airport as always, and had an amazing experience! The girls working here, know exactly how to make all of the options and do a great job at it! They are very friendly kind and I will certainly be back!

Ordered a ham Italian. They gave me so little ham that it’s almost invisible when looking at the cross section of the sandwich. By my eyes it’s a ham sandwich with about 0.05” inches of meat. Not good

Ordered pizza and whoppie pies for dinner. From out of town and ordered through doordash. They were super busy but my pizza still arrived warm and was delicious. Right amount of crust to toppings ratio. Super filling. Enjoyed trying my first whoppie pie ever and let me tell you it was delicious! Would love to have found them sooner so I could have gotten another one before heading back home. Can’t wait to come back to get another.

Amato’s is the home to the original Maine Italian sandwich, from which all others Italians are based on. This is half of a small sandwich: American cheese, ham, onion, green pepper, pickle, tomato, olives, salt pepper and oil. I always order it with extra ham and olives. Absolutely delicious. Even though it is a cold sandwich, I let it rest for about 10 minutes to ensure the oil seeps everywhere before enjoying it with Humpty Dumpty BBQ chips and a Diet Coke; surprisingly, Amato’s does not sell Pepsi products.

I eat here all the time period but, I may eat here a little bit less now. if at all. It’s very simple. If you’re going to have employees wear gloves then do what your supposed to. Wear them consistently, change them in between handling money and handling food, and just change them frequently! I came in there earlier, and I paid in cash. As I was fumbling with my things, putting my change in my wallet the gentleman that cashed me out took my cash, kept his gloves on, and then went and touched food without changing his gloves. I just gave you dirty money! Gross! That is why people get sick. This isn’t the 1st time I’ve seen this in your restaurant.

I placed an online order and got ze drinks and I had 3 set aside and she wanted to accuse me of already taking the 3 without even seeing me leave the store with 3 drinks, I was thinking of buying the third but absolutely not.
