Hip NYC restaurant vibes in Ohio City! Cool vibes & ambiance. Loved the menu being all shareable! You get to try everything, this was great. Ordered a bunch of different things and enjoyed every bite!

Very nice, modern Indian restaurant in Ohio City. It is a small plates, shareable Indian food concept which is great for trying a number of dishes. All the food was great. Cocktails were all creative and delicious. Service was nice, ate at the bar. Very attentive. Decor and ambience felt like a modern, hip NYC restaurant…maybe only complaint was that music was a little too loud. There is a restaurant area and a bar area. Food available at the bar, but not all the bar tables are big enough to hold food. Was pretty busy on a Saturday night around 8pm…needed to wait a little to get a seat at the bar.

It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we wanted a memorable evening…Boy this place did not disappoint. In fact we are so glad we chose this place!!! We loved the food, every one of the dish we ordered was bursting with flavors, just the right spice level, just the right temperature and just the right portion!!! Their cocktails are an interesting combination of flavors, we tried their Violets Juniper, Verbena Root. The service was fantastic. Friendly staff. Half way into our meal lo and behold, we were greeted by the owner Douglas Katz himself!!! We had a great conversation with him, he seems such a nice person!! This whole evening ended up being so special, so memorable, just as we had hoped for!!! Thank you Amba!!

What an absolutely incredible meal! We, admittedly, over-ordered but we just wanted to try everything! Everything we had was amazing. The wine list is incredible and pairs with the food really well. Cocktails were awesome. The lighting is sparse, but in a good way. Ambiance is lovely. We had a great time.

Food and drinks were really great and the staff was kind and attentive. We tried the “Chef’s Favorites” tasting menu. The fried zucchini was a bit bland, but everything else was killer. The restaurant is VERY dark, but it made for a unique and interesting atmosphere. Overall, we enjoyed our night!

We had dinner at Amba a couple weeks ago when visiting friends in Cleveland. We were a group of 4, and each one of us loved the food!

Absolutely one of the best restaurant experiences, it doesn’t even feel like you are in Ohio! The atmosphere is very romantic with a minimal lighting to create an intimate feel, and the food is simply delicious — it’s an Indian-inspired cuisine with a perfect twist! Plenty of vegan options on the menu! Amba is certainly one of those places that you want to visit for a unique experience. Smaller size plates, so they are perfect for sharing. By the way, “Amba” is a tangy mango pickle condiment of Indian-Jewish origin, which is served with the food at the restaurant.

The food was 3.5 stars. One dish the pickled vegetables was 3 stars, not pickled very well, but ok. The potato salad in a pastry was solid. The spicy green beans was excellent, 5 stars. The desert I had, the chocolate torte I would not recommend. The torte was very hard and barely ate it.

I have heard so much hype about Amba so my friend and I had to check it out. All the hype is legitimate! The Indian fusion food was superb and service was excellent. Try the warmed cashews and warmed spinach dip for starters and kulfi for dessert! The servers all help one another out bringing out food and tending to needs. It was rather dark in there so I used my phone to read the menu and to see what was on the table. The patio is a nice option! Get there early to ensure a seat or be prepared to wait a while for a seat. Parking is tight and paid parking in the Church Street parking garage is sketchy – be sure to take a screenshot as proof you paid for parking.
