We decided to have a small wedding dinner at Ambra with immediate family in their private dining room. Not only was the food amazing, but we left FULL after 7 courses and a couple extra amuses. Our families loved everything, all food was well thought-out and in-season, and communication between us and the restaurant prior was perfect. They accommodated a variety of dietary restrictions, had mock tails for those not drinking, and even made us a small wedding cake. We had never been to Ambra before this dinner but will definitely be back for a chef’s table and/or to their sister restaurant

My husband found Ambra online and we decided to go for our anniversary dinner. Best dinner experience of our entire life! The food, atmosphere, and staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Shannon led us through a wine pairing with all of our food. She really knew her stuff about wine. The chef Chris was knowledgeable about the food he made and you could tell he took the time to put everything on the plate.

Tasting is delicious and wine pairing is lovely. Highly recommend. Tasting does take 2.5 hours so be prepared for a longer but delicious meal.

Special. Rarely at the high end price point do you get value. This meal was amazing. Sitting at the chef/kitchen table allows one to appreciate that you are really getting food executed at the highest level. Best meal I’ve had in a very long time.

The space is small and dark (think ambiance, not creepy) the food is interesting, tasty and fresh. Also super rich. This is not a straight forward menu or wine pairing. Nothing here is typical, great special occasion spot!!!

Came here for dinner food was very good but overpriced. We looked at the menu online in expectation of the visit and the fixed price menu was $65 when we arrived at the place handwritten on the menu was $72, this is not how you create a good first impression on a guest.

Cozy space with wonderful service. Inventive, beautiful, absolutely delicious Italian cuisine. Tasting menu only, but they are happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions. Best wine pairings in Philly. Perfect place for your special occasion meal. Go quickly before it becomes too popular to get a table!

Inventive and creative modern Italian cuisine. Tasting menu only. Instead of the offered wine pairing (which would have been too much wine for us) the sommelier suggested two wines to accompany our meal and that was perfect for us. I’ve seen other reviews talking about the small portion size. True, but believe me, after six courses of small plates we were extremely full. I could barely finish. The price for two, with wine (2 glasses each) was about $280. Expensive, but, in my opinion, worth it for a special occasion. Service was impeccable. Kudos.

Nice location in an artsy neighborhood. The menu was a six course, s m a l l plate with wine parings. Small plates with the emphasis on small. It was interesting to try new wines that may not have been on our radar. The food was really beautifully presented and then a brief description of why the small pour was picked for that particular food item. I would have stolen my friends wonderful tasting beef, about the size of a square ice cube, but she would have objected and it wasn’t that kind of place. The experience lasts about two hours. You won’t get drunk from the wine as they use small pours. You may, however, leave hungry. The restaurant was cool to try. It was very very expensive. The two of us, sticking to the pre fixe menu, with nothing extra came to around $475.00, including tip. Different-Yes. Interesting- Somewhat. Small plates-Think one small item. Expensive-$$$$$ -Yes. Value vs. Experience- Unfortunately No.
