The Americano Burger Wrap was really really good. They have a great happy hour (4-7pm), beer for $3 and some food specials. Bartender was awesome.

Food was great! The burgers are fresh and the Mac and cheese is fantastic. Our server was so fun – my kid was jokingly “ordering” alcohol and she brought him a “shot” of sugar water. Atmosphere is great – good music and comfy booth seating.

It’s been several years since we’ve been here, and the vibe is totally different. We missed the shuffleboard table and the cheap shot menu, but otherwise the food was good and it definitely sufficed for lunch, but just not near as welcoming and fun as it was 4+ years ago!

Really good! Like honestly Americano is usually just the place I thought everyone went when Maplewood was too crowded, but I got their Nashville hot chicken sandwich and Cajun fries and loved them! Just the right amount of spice, really well made chicken, and even though it was pretty busy our waitress got us served in a very reasonable time frame.

Love the flag made of beer cans on the ceiling. The only way to top it was the food and it was amazing! If ever I’m back in Cincinnati, this will be a stop I make for food.

Burger patty was blackened charcoal. Barely any meat left to find. Cheese tasted like burnt plastic. Chorizo in mac was GROSS. Didn’t even taste like food. Took 30 minutes to receive our food. Will not EVER be going back there. Biggest waste of money on food in a LONG time. Employees were nice.

Sooooo, the problem with doing Houston’s Picks is that one, people don’t want to choose a place b/c they are afraid of being called out for their poor choice. And two, they want me to pick a new place so that they can be a part of a Houston’s Picks. With that being said, someone in the group suggested we try a place called Americano in Cincinnati. I do admit, I was not thrilled with the menu, but since no one wanted to land on a different place, we decided to give it a try. I am not sure how to describe the menu. One would think “American” food, but there were quite a few things on there that seemed Mexican. Companion one ordered the buffalo chicken wrap w/ onion rings. Companion one felt that the sandwich was good and had a nice kick w/ the spiciness. Usually companion one is looking for places to bring on the heat and it never comes, but this time it did. Companion one offered me an onion ring to try. It only came w/ three onion rings, but they were large. However, they were the butt of the onion. How is every onion the butt? What do they do w/ the rest of the onion? There was a nice crispy flavorful breading on the onion ring, but it did not adhere well to the butt. Companion two had the americano burger w/ a side of onion rings…butts. The Americano burger was good, but they didn’t ask how you wanted it cooked. Also, companion two liked the onion rings, but wished the breading held on better. Companion three ordered the chorizo mac and cheese and the chili. It was felt that the mac and cheese had more spice than the chili, but if there was no chorizo or jalapenos, then it would have lacked flavor. The chili needed more kick, less cheese, and companion three didn’t know what cream was on top of the chili. It looked like sour cream, but also looked as if there was dill in it. The jury is still out on that. Companion four and six had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Both felt that the sandwich was messy but okay. Companion four was glad to not have to sweat it out due to the spice level and companion six wished that the chicken itself had more flavor. Perhaps it needed to be marinated before being breaded. Companion five had the americano burger wrap. It almost looked like an inside out burger because the cheese was on the outside of the tortilla wrap. Again, there was a spicy kick but since companion five had been to Americano before, it was felt that the regular americano burger was better. I ordered crispy brussel sprouts as an appetizer to share. Overall, the brussel sprouts were enjoyed, but not the best I have had. It needed a touch of salt and companions three and six felt it could have used more of a tang to bring it out more. I also ordered the wings. They were not whole wings, just party wings and they were kind enough to give me only the flappers. There were a few sauces to choose from and I got the guava bbq. The wings were nice and crispy and the bbq sauce was sweet with a little touch of heat at the end. Companion six and I had the tea, unsweetened and sweetened (w/ simple syrup). It was a no go on the tea. It was pretty weak, as if the tea bag was used over and over again.

Our family of 5 was in Cincinnati, Ohio for spring break to go to The Ark Encounter and The Creation Museum. Our son is autistic, so finding a restaurant where he can find something to eat can be a challenge. Looking at Americano’s ( 545 Race St.) menu looked like a safe bet. It did not disappoint. We began with an appetizer of cheese curds which did not arrive for 45 minutes and within 5 minutes of our meal. My husband loves anything soup or bisque with tomatoes so he had the tomato bisque and grilled cheese. I had the Patty Melt and shared onion rings with my husband. Our son had a cheeseburger to his liking ( win!). Our son-in-law had the spicy chicken with bar b q and said it was very good. The only thing keeping us from giving 5 stars was the slow service and unfriendliness of the wait staff. Maybe as southerners we expect more.

I found the burgers, fries, onion rings, etc. not very noteworthy honestly. I’ve had tastier experiences at Burger King and Steak N’ Shake. The hot deconstructed dogs however are very good. Far superior to the over hyped and overwrought ones at The Senate. Order one. You’ll thank me later.
