An [庵] is a place where you can just come in and feel relaxed while you enjoy having great gourmet food and chatting with a chef. In Japanese, An [庵] means a modest cottage where in old times monks and artists rest and spend a peaceful time being isolated from the rest of the world, and that’s exactly how we treat our guests. We provide comfort with great selections of seasonal food both locally in San Francisco and trending at Tokyo Tsukiji Fish Market as well as imported Sake to match with the food. With our hospitality and pride, you will feel like you are in a cozy small sushi place somewhere in old downtown Tokyo that makes you right at home no matter where you come from.
Snug Japanese eatery with an upscale vibe offering an omakase menu & sushi, plus sake & spirits. Based on 104 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.8 stars. Price $$$

An’s is always a great place to visit when you have the chance. The place has a cozy and comforting design while having amazing food. Although I don’t visit it often, each and every time I go the quality and variety of the food always surprises me in the best ways possible.

A culinary experience for those who want to experience a traditional Japanese sushi meal. Chef’s choice meal is a way to go. We were at the bar table, with head chef prepping and explaining each portion! All fish is expertly and seasonally sourced from Tokyo market and locally. They also provide real wasabi that everyone needs to try to know what real one taste like.

Price quality ratio is unbeatable. Pretty easy to make last minute reservations. I was able to get a seat for 2 at the sushi bar a day before.

Was looking for a very nice place for dinner around 8:30pm in Japan Town. Several places were closed, of those open the were either fully booked or were touristy. We found this spot on Yelp and just went. They had availability and we did the chefs omakase. The experience was excellent and it really hit the spot. The place is very small with seating for around 12. If you sit at the bar you get to see the chef work. It felt very personal and we really enjoyed it.

Had my first omakase experience here and was very blown away. The food and service were both amazing, and at an amazing price for SF Omakase. You can tell the chef and wife are both very passionate about what they do – I think they’re husband and wife.

Chef’s Omakase was great. The starter course was my favorite (love the sweet shrimp and soy jelly!). Also… crunchy, grated wasabi!

This place is tiny and legit. You get your own personal sushi chef if you’re at the bar. The ankimo (monkfish liver) small plate is delicious.

First off. This is a semi fancy Japanese restaurant, very small space which only serves a few people. The vibe is awesome. The food is very good but price is also not cheap. Please expect 100 for 1 person.
