Very friendly staff, beautiful spacious environment, possibility of free parking in front of the restaurant (few parking spaces) the pizza maker has a lot to learn despite using quality basic ingredients, such as caputo flour, the pizza is almost inedible.

This was literally the best traditional Italian-style pizza that I have eaten so far in New Orleans!!

Our shared pizza was scrumptious. The crust had a good bread flavor instead of tasting like cardboard, though there were a few burnt places from the wood fire oven.

Disappointing. The pizzas look good, partly because they have a proper Neapolitan crust: thin and soft at the bottom, thick and fluffy at the sides. However, neither pizza we ordered tasted great. The Margherita lacked flavor and was topped with mint instead of basil. It was nonetheless better than the Supreme, which had excessively salty olives and sausage. Worse still was the Italian wine, which tasted like vinegar (at $13 per glass). The only decent dish we had were the antipasti. Don’t recommend.

The food is quite tasty, but don’t expect it to be loaded with cheap toppings. You’re here for the quality. Wait staff is polite, but hit or miss in terms of rapport. Was disappointed with the size of the $12 market salad (photo). The caramel ice cream was outstanding. They don’t advertise the pots of espresso that they will make for you but it’s wonderfully chocolaty!

I read other reviews stating that their crust was the closest to Naples, and they were not exaggerating. It’s the best crust and sauce I’ve had in the US. If you visit New Orleans and love pizza napolitana, this is a must try restaurant. You’ll want to eat this pizza every time you visit. I will miss it so much. We had the the children’s cheese, margherita, and diavola. Our favorite was the margherita pizza. I could eat this pizza every day.

One table in our area was extremely loud and obnoxious. We could hardly hear ourselves talk. They were so loud a mother with a baby had to leave the room. Aside from that, the food and service have always been the best ever.

So, being from New York we think we have the best pizza outside of Italy. Well, let me tell you, I am thankful we travelled from the French Quarter to dine at Ancora Pizza. Their brick fired oven and spot on recipe for making their dough is an absolute home run. We’ve had a few negative surprises during our stay in New Orleans but the pizza we had tonight makes our stay here worth while. Don’t miss it.

Service takes too long. We waited about an hour for our pizza to be served on a not so busy Friday around 7pm. We wanted to go do other things after dinner but we’re not able to because we were there for so long. Would not recommend dining in. Pizza was ok and barely had any toppings.

Great place for Italian cocktails and pizza. The pizza is cooked in a hot wood fire oven and is ready in minutes. Must get the gnocchi and crab meat appetizer! Save the sauce to dip the pizza crust! Going back soon to try their authentic meatballs.
