This restaurant is the type I love: A hidden gem! My wife and I wanted authentic West African food from Ghana and/or Nigeria. We drove from Lewisville and we are so happy we did. The food was amazing and the service was great too. This restaurant is a family restaurant. Expect great food and a casual atmosphere. The goat and fish stew were exquisite. We can’t wait to return and try other dishes.

I’ve ordered from Angie’s several times now. The reviews are certainly accurate in terms of the deliciousness of the food. I’ve had pounded yam with egusi, grilled tilapia with fried plantains, bean stew with fried Plantains and jollof rice with chicken.

Today was my first time here. Though the service wasn’t good, I didn’t care until I got home with my food. I ordered grilled fish and banku, jollof rice and plantain. The fish was not seasoned AT ALL and not done. It was just decorated with so much belle peppers and onions. The jollof was burned, you can smell it in the jollof. The only think that was good is the plantain I ordered. I am disappointed to say the least.

It was suggested by a friend so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Jollof rice with Chicken…also comes with a salad (iceberg lettus, carrots and ranch dressing). The food was good but but I may order something next time that is not fried. No big fuss over this dish. It was good but not great.

I have to edit my review because of your response and lies. It’s my first time ever in DFW and it’s an Uber eat order so my friends and I have never been to your store. Do better with the Nigerian dishes since you’re a Ghanaian or stop selling them!

This was our first time and it was amazing .The food was extremely flavorful , staff is engaging and welcoming . We came all the way from New York and Connecticut and enjoyed our experience. We had the waakye along with the Jollof rice with fried chicken, plantains, and meat pies . This won’t be our last time .

White rice and beef stew was yummy. Beef okra soup 5/10. It was too much skin in it as you can see from the picture.

We ordered plantain that comes with the beans then additional plantain as a side dish as part of a delivery. Instead of the sliced fried plantain as pictured on Angie’s website, we received what appeared to be fritters. When we called to complain, the person on the phone said she did not know we were not Ghanaian and that if we were Ghanaian we would have understood about the way the plantain looked. She refused to refund the money for the plantain because she said it was the only thing we were complaining about and that she prepared it that way because the plantain was over ripe. She suggested we come to the restaurant another day to get plantain. She was extremely rude and even put my brother on hold because other orders were coming in. She basically said the conversation and our complaint were going nowhere and she hung up on us. This is our first experience with her, and our last.

Best African restaurant I’ve had in DFW! The food is wonderfully flavorful and fresh! Efo is my favorite so far, the ewedu and egusi are also delicious. I’m eager to return and try the many other dishes
