Cooking is not just steaming rice and making a pot of gravy, it is the blending of different spices in their right proportion. Every spice has its own medicinal properties, so food is both appetizing and healthy. The goodness of banana leaf is also highlighted in the Sangam literature. As it serves as a plate it is equally hygienic, healthy and eco- friendly. Its waxy exterior helps prevent sogging when served soupy foods as most of the South Indian meal comprises of curries and soups. It not only serves as a plate but also adds great flavor to the cooked food. Banana leaves are an excellent source of antioxidants, it cleanses the blood, stimulates appetite and also helps in digestion.
My mom always used to tell me that cooking is an art.

The food here is amazing, hands down. We ordered the non veg thali, the masala dosa, tea and everything was delicious and flavorful that transported me back to South India.

Place is over crowded. Ordered doordash for dinner. It says ready on app, but still took another 10 minutes for order to ready and after checking, items were missing and informed they just ran out of the chutney and so. I have to wait for another 10 min for coconut chutney.

Found this place near the Hotel we were staying at in Pleasanton. Was very intrigued with their menu options so decided to give it a shot.

One of the few South Indian places that stay open even after 2 pm. Have had food lot of times here and it doesn’t disappoint. Service staff is courteous and food comes out quick. I had podi masala dosa. Spice level was good for me, not too spicy not too bland. We also had the chicken 65 and veg thali.

We went to Appakadi for dinner with the great feel of tasty mutton biryani and soup. I haven’t been to this place for almost 6 months and I have recommended this place to many of my friends to try authentic tamilnadu style briyani… today’s experience was bad… None of the food we ordered were good… it had no flavor nor taste anywhere closer to their normal taste few months ago.. however the people who works there are awesome and very helpful. They were very accommodating and helpful. I will go back in a couple of months to try the food again. I shall update the food ratings after that.

Husband and I were both wowed by the food and service. Genuinely hospitable staff who ensured we tried the restaurants top dishes and the food was hands down some of the best Indian food either of us have had in the states. Will definitely be eating here anytime I’m in Pleasanton. The mutton soup and the chapati were my favorites

For newcomers to Southern Indian cuisine, the service was under-whelming. The staff was nice but they didn’t make the effort to introduce us to the cuisine when we asked. The food choices we made were OK. Very much likely not coming back.

This place was a disappointment.Their seating and ordering system is chaotic. The non veg thali, is just oily and lacks any flavour. Mysore masala dosa was a disappointment too.idachi chicken was decent. The back kitchen looks untidy and disorganized. Does not meet the Bay area standards. Please give this a miss.

Reason for a star is idicha chicken. Rest are disappointment for price point. Mutton in kothu smelt and tasted like lamb and no raita and no salna as side. Cauliflower Manchurian is an oily version of 65. Parotta looked not in house made. Definitely not worth for price point.
