We really need expected more for the price. The food was decent. The atmosphere was below average for the price. I felt we were overdressed for the restaurant. And I had a collar shirt with nice shorts and tennis shoes.

Amazing food, beautiful and elegant atmosphere, and wonderful service! Anson exceeded our expectations and I’m only sorry that it took us so long to go here. Food was beautifully prepared and perfectly seasoned; I’ve never seen so many clean plates at one table. Our server, Will, was wonderful, very helpful, and gave great recommendations. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and out and the added Christmas decorations made it magical. The tables are spaced far enough away from each other so you don’t feel like you’re eating with your neighbor and the noise level was perfect, everyone was able to talk and hear each other without any problems, which is not the case at many other Charleston restaurants we have gone to. Overall, Anson exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to go back! Definitely one of the best, hidden gems in Charleston, and so much better than many of the other restaurants in the area, especially the Establishment. Don’t hesitate, book your reservation today!

This place was highly recommended while visiting Charleston. We requested to be stated upstairs and we happened to have our own bottle of Champagne Vintage 2012 that we were holding for a special dinner like this. The service is outstanding and they accommodated all our requests. The food was in the top three of our 5 days vacation in this foodie paradise. All cooked to perfection, full of flavor and perfect sized. We can’t wait to go back again. It is a must visit restaurant.

Great atmosphere and menu selection for a nice enjoyable meal. The grits are ground fresh on site…and delicious! The service was very good and the atmosphere was quiet and beautiful. There is ample parking around the restaurant and the location is good, easy to find. Prices were standard. We ordered the She Crab soup, Shrimp and Grits, Fried Green tomatoes, and the Beet Salad. The soup was good, but not the best I’ve tasted. The same with the other dishes. However, the beet salad was wonderful! This is a great place for date night. I would actually give this restaurant a 3.5 but that is not an option. I would go back and try other dishes, but overall, the food was just good with some high points. The atmosphere…great!
