This place is a hidden gem in Waukegan yet it’s a staple for those who know… “IYKYK” Service is always friendly, albeit sometimes can seem slow because there’s usually just one person serving, taking orders, food running and bartending. Don’t let that deter you. The food is top quality and the prices are fair. This has definitely become my go-to spot.

We drive all the way frome Janesville Wisconsin just to be able to eat real Mexican food I believe that this is the only town in Waukegan Illinois that actually makes real Mexican food anyone who really wants it this is the place to go they brought real Mexican food all the way from Mexico I wouldn’t change anything in this place it’s perfect more then perfect here in Janesville Wisconsin they have Mexican restaurants but none of there food actually taste like Mexican food like they try to cook it’s just that there food is not 100 percent Mexican food there food is from other countries around Mexico and it doesn’t taste all that great they should bring it here to Janesville

If you’re not familiar with this hidden gem, you’re missing out! They have it all! The flavors, the variety, the home style cooking and the service with a smile! They also do catering! And let me tell ya, they’re amazing to work with! Super professional and on top of everything! They recently catered my parents 50th wedding anniversary of about 200 guests and it was an absolute success! Everyone loved the food and service! I highly recommend Antojitos Tonatico!

They have the best menudo in town, their portions are generous and very reasonable prices. Great customer service by who I believe is one of the owners and also by the staff. Their pickled carrots are the best, which that alone is a reason to go eat there.

The was bland and and my fried steak sandwich was overly cooked. There is no taco diner option. For 3 tacos and and rice and rice and beans it will cost nearly $20. Much more expensive than alternative places I’ve visited. The tacos were well seasoned and extremely tender. I absolutely loved there pickled carrots. They came in a zip lock bag though. Would have been nice if the were in a container. The server was great; Very kind and patient.

First time trying this place out. I got tacos. There was barely any meat. I paid $20 for tortillas with a couple pieces of meat. If you’re going to charge $3+ per taco make sure there a good serving portion of meat.
