It is certainly a fancy place, if you want a special table, you better reserve it. In case you do not, if you are lucky you sit by the broken counter (see the pictures) and cannot see how the chef prepares your sushi… The service is good and customer service, too. Sushi is overpriced, portions are small, and honestly nothing special. I don’t eat big amount of food. However, once we finished our dinner, I was still hungry… Not planning to go back.

Was looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant when I found this place, it’s a nice quiet restaurant tucked away inside the APA hotel. Feels quite classy and great atmosphere, the waiters come often to check in with you. I got the eel don and it was perfect strong and subtle flavors mixing together. Quite filling and a good balance of textures with the rice. I think it had shredded tofu bits in the rice and it was a great addition. On the expensive side but you get the quality for what you pay for. 10/10 would come again!

Really nice atmosphere tucked inside a hotel. Portions are small for the price but the fried oysters are amazing. Have come back for them multiple times and they’re a good deal at happy hour.

First experience having Omakase. The food was great when we went, but the service was slower than normal. There was only one sushi chef preparing the 7 course Omakase for what looked to be 13 different guests on a Friday night. We started at 6:30 but didn’t get finished until 9:30.

I went here for Friday dinner and at 6pm the place was empty even though online reservations were full. Started with a Sapporo and hot sake and they paired very well. For appetizers, we ordered the tempura calamari(amazing), shaitsu peppers, pancakes(awesome). For main course, the other guests had sushi and sashimi dinner(looked great). I had volcano roll with few pieces of al la carte sashimi. Everything was delicious, fish was perfect temperature and tasted a-mazing.

Little gem of a Japanese restaurant tucked away inside the APA hotel – all the dishes were beautifully presented and you wouldn’t expect such fresh and varying types of sashimi cuts in Woodbridge. The hot dishes were fantastic – the katsu (pork chop) is crispy and thick yet tender, and the hamachi kama (grilled yellowtail jaw) came with two pieces and had lots of meat.

Took us a minute to locate but once we did, this place did not disappoint. This place is a hidden gem. The quality of fish is amazing. Beautifully plated. Service is great. Will be back again.

The most authentic Japanese restaurant we’ve ever visited in the US! Everything is like what we used to have in Japan. The waiter is very friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant! Must try their sashimi it’s awesome!

Absolutely the best quality sushi I have had outside of japan. Non sushi was not as great but still pretty good. I had the beef sukiyaki udon. The fish was fresh and did not leave a fishy or saltwatery after taste in the mouth. It was niether cold nor lukewarm and the sushi chef prepared the sushi with some wasabi underneath the fish just like in japan. Aoi definitely knows what theyre doing. Only con would be the price of the sushi.
