Came for dinner. Food was still great. Ordered chilli fish fillet, apple green house fried rice, Chinese watercress vegetable, and orange chicken. Everything tasted good. Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed good food and company at Apple Green.

Apple Green Bistro (I swear I thought it was Green Apple Bistro but then that’s because I can read Chinese) is one of my favorite restaurants in the South Bay. It’s one of those places that you go when you don’t have any particular cravings but always exceed your expectations. I go there mostly for the spicy dishes but I have to say even simple scallion beef is juicy and tender. The fiery frog has a cool presentation. The sesame pancake is always delicious and mostly everything is good. Occasionally you encounter one or two appetizers such as the spicy beef tripe that’s soso but something else will definitely make you happy.

Large selection of Chinese dishes from cold, spicy dishes like couple beef, to large, standard family affairs like steamed fish and lobster. The place is spacious and clean, with decent service. I liked the specialty spicy dishes (spicy chicken with noodles) which could have been spicier, as well as the green onion lamb and duck yolk pumpkin. Only downside was the seafood tofu soup, which basically tasted like hot water with proteins from the sea. Spiced that up with the sauce from another dish to salvage it.

Delicious northern Chinese food, good place to try new dishes. Very fast service, friendly staff. Amongst our favorites seseme bread with scallions, lotus roots, cold shredded spicy potatoes, and spicy pork dumplings. The ambiance is a bit meh, but the food more than makes up for it.
