Serendipitous Fate
We travelled from North Carolina in order to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mother in law. We had members from Kentucky and South Carolina drive in as well. It was the first Mother’s Day my MIL had all five of her children together in more than a quarter century. We had a party of 16. We arrived, checked in, and was told it would about ten minutes. We were happy to wait, as there was an emtire row of tables perfect for our needs, all empty, except for one. This table was nearly finished eating, and we were told that this was where our party would be placed. We continued to wait patiently, and before too long, the lunch rush began. We proceeded to sit there and watch them sit another table in the tables we were waiting for. When we asked why they were giving up our tables, to which we were informed that we would have to wait for the wing on the other side of the restaurant to be cleared, all of which had just been seated also, so we would be waiting at least an hour on top of the 35 minutes we had already waited. When we asked to speak to the manager, the manager immediately copped an attitude, and said we needed to calm down. No one had been loud, rude, or abrasive, there was absolutely no need for the manager to treat a party of 16, who had been patiently waiting, while they seated at least two dozen people in front of us, with such rudeness, condescension, and complete apathy. They had no intention of waiting on us, and was more than happy to keep four generations of our family waiting, wasting what precious time we had together. I am convinced that they just did not wish to wait on a party of this size, and had we not left, we would be sitting there waiting still. Considering many of us have worked in the food service industry, from dishwashers and servers to management, we are more than understanding and patient, as well as generous, with wait staff. This restaurant lost several hundred dollars in sales, a dozen tips for their servers, and any return visits to this location in perpetuity. This is absolutely the worst service we have ever received, and Applebee’s should use this location as an example of what NOT to do. If this is their service standard, their doors won’t be open much longer.

Our waitress was amazing and we definitely enjoy the friendly atmosphere of your waite staff. It was a double birthday celebration and she surprised us with 2 birthday brownies with ice cream. How fun!

My fiancé and I went out to eat with my family and some family friends we don’t get to see often. It is safe to say the experience was not great. It was FREEZING where we were seated and had asked multiple times if that could be changed. But the waitress instead told me I should “wear a shirt next time” because I was wearing a crop top. We had to ask for our items multiples times and the waitress would blame it on other things even though it was not busy. Most of the tables’ food was cold when it was served to us. Our waitress tried being “funny” a few times and it ended up coming off really odd and just made you feel uncomfortable. She straight up called my fiancé a liar about his age when he ordered an alcoholic beverage and made a scene about it. Ultimately realized she read the “expiration date” and not his birth date. Made him feel uncomfortable and made me irate. We are from Kokomo thankfully so will most likely not be coming here again. But was in town to for our wedding rehearsal so was disappointed to have that close out the night.

So here is the thing. We went on a Friday night. We have gone here for years. 3 years ago, my rating of this restaurant was completely different. The last 3 times we have gone here, the service and food has gotten worse. Each time we said we wouldn’t return. This last time we went it was all you can eat. We got sat at a table fairly quickly. It was 10 minutes before our waitress got our drink order. It was 15 minutes before she returned with drinks and took our food order. It was 45 minutes before our food came. The restaurant was busy, so I get it. When our food came it was barely Luke warm, but we were hungry so we ate it. My daughter asked for more BBQ sauce for her ribs, but had pretty much eaten them before she got her sauce. My husband’s wings barely had sauce and mine were swimming in sauce and my plate had a ton of extra sauce. The waitress finally came back and asked I’d we were ready for seconds. The restaurant had cleared out a bit, but there were several people waiting to be seated. It took another hour to get the next set of wings. Again they were barely warm. The tables that had left were still loaded with dishes and the people were still waiting to be seated. Just completely disappointing. Those people had been waiting an hour and a half to be seated. As we were leaving they got seated. There were 3 waitelresses and a bartender. I assume there was someone at least 1 cooking. I realize it was all you can eat, but they should have been at the very least warm when we got them. I am going to say we probably won’t go back as the previous 2 visits were similar, with the food being not hot or tasting like it had been re-cooked. Disappointing when this was an excellent restaurant 3-4 years ago.

We had a wonderful waitress Tabitha at the Frankfort, Indiana Applebee’s! There were only 2 servers that evening and she kept up with everything. She was amazing ❤️

Very friendly service, even when busy! Good variety on the drinks menu (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). I recommend checking the 2 for $25 or 2 for $30 deals, which include an appetizer and two entrees. There’s a pretty decent selection on the menu for these deals.

All the staff were super friendly. The steak was good but the vegetables that came with it could be more flavorful. The mashed potatoes helped make up for it though. There was an issue with the checks getting mixed up but they sorted it out fast and were able to explain everything. I’d say 3 stars is a proper rating because while there is still room for improvement they did their job well and made our visit pleasant
