Many options to choose from on menu and some are very unique. The ingredients have been consistently fresh and flavorful, including the seafood. No one has been disappointed yet! They have a full bar, nice ambiance, dimly lit, our servers have always been friendly and attentive. Tables are nearly full when we’ve gone, but we haven’t waited too long to be seated. It’s a little pricey, but worth the price for us and I don’t like to splurge on restaurants very often. Recommend if you like Japanese.

Let me tell you about this place right here. 1 beautiful, everything from the dining experience to the presentation. My sister and I choose this place as our go to when we hang out. Our server I wish I remembered her name got us hooked on these lychee martinis 10/10. You guys care about your business and it shows and I just wanna thank you for the most amazing experience we’ve ever had and will always return as long as you’re around. We appreciate all that you guys do and keep up the amazing work you guys do

Tuna Shashmi is amazing. Best cuts! Food is great!! The dining room is pretty, nice and the place is really clean. Great calm atmosphere. Great service. My numbers 1 spot in Florida for sushi and I have lived all over Florida most my life. I love this place above all Japanese places in Gainesville. They will customize personal orders. You just have to ask. Wonderful place and staff.

Wow, what a great place. We got a special roll and a hibachi and shared it. The bar was out of our choice of beer. Our server made a great alternative recommendation, and even followed up on it. We were on a long overdue date night. So happy we came.

I’ve tried nearly every sushi restaurant in the area, and Arashi Yama is the best by far. Having eaten here at least twice a month since they opened, I can honestly say that I’ve never had less than a perfect experience. The fish is exceptionally high quality—and reasonably priced at that—and the spicy coconut soup is probably the best soup I’ve ever had. They are also one of the few places I’ve been to that serves uni that is both delectable and has the custardy texture it’s supposed to. Many restaurants with great food feel comfortable skimping on other areas, but the service and atmosphere at Arashi Yama are as fantastic as their menu. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Gainesville, hands down.

Surprised to find that I did not know this restaurant was open at its location. Wow I’m super impressed by the staff, the decor and of course the Food! The edinomi was perfect. Not too salty followed by the rice less sushi. Yes no rice and you can truly enjoy the depth of flavor. The different rolls were fantastic and the presentation was superior to any other restaurant I have ever seen. The chef really knows his craft. Tuna and shrimp and yellow tail. All were perfect. Red wine and an Old fashioned made the meal perfect. I strongly recommend you give it a try. And they have a cooked roll option as well.

The food was amazing and well priced for how much you receive. Our waitress was sweet and patient (I had my birthday there with a large group). Also, the sushi was skillfully done that it resembled art.

Dine in experience much better than takeout here. Maybe they had a bad day when we got takeout, but the sushi just tasted off. When we came to dine in, we found that service was friendly and the place had a good vibe. The food leans much more into fusion than traditional Japanese food. Recommend getting sushi rolls and their black fried rice. Drinks are good too. Food came out a little slow, but we didn’t mind much. Prices are reasonable for Gainesville.
