About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Worst pizza taste wise I ever had I am sorry to say. We ordered 3 for $90 and I expected wow st that price point and was utterly disappointed and gF my friend try also and no flavor, salt and other things seem to be missing. It looks great and then it’s like eating air or such. Thin crust was good, ingredients likely good, it looked the sort but no flavor… 🙁 very disappointed I have to say. $8 Walmart or Trader Joe’s pizza has way more flavor…

Let me explain my rating here. First this is not about the food or service this is about the lack of attention to the web search that brings you here. We were closer to the Scottsdale location when we started but this was closer to our hotel so it was going to work great. Have a dinner relax and go on to the next event in our vacation. Nope this is o my delivery or dine in, this is not clear in a good search or web page when on a phone. Food 1/2 but we had to eat cold pizza and reheat in hotel microwave. While waiting at least three other groups came in for dinner in, obviously and issue and the same with calls. This is a management failure. The little things matter. If this does not what else do they cut corners on? Also the menu was so small with reader I had trouble reading. Wow really. I will try the restaurant next time if there is one. Last we stood in the lobby 5 minutes before anyone came out.

Delicious pizza. The sauce was seasoned nicely and not sweet like some places. The sausage and cheese were plentiful and the crust buttery and crisp. What more is there to say? The takeout was mostly painless but the parking lot is smaller so bring a dose of patience.

Best deep dish in the valley! Love coming here to pick up a pie to bring home. Great if you’re not looking forward to visit the busy restaurant and the wait. Pizza is always fresh and delicious. We go for the classic with pepperoni instead of sausage. It’s terrific! They also have some other food options and desserts to go.

First time at this location and it was a good time. The Cobb salad was really good and I didn’t feel that the wait time for our deep dish was too long.

Had a friend get some delivery Lou’s and it was great. Had no idea about the prices or anything like that but the pizza was great. Fantastic deep dish Chicago style.

I would not come back here. We ordered a Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, which should have plenty of sauce and cheese on it. Half of the pizza was good but the other half was dry and barley any sauce or cheese on it. We also ordered cheesy bread, it was really burnt. The wings were ok, nothing to brag about. Keep in mind this wasn’t cheap stuff. We spent $60 on a medium pizza, wings were pretty small portion, and the burnt cheese bread.

They’re on top of it here, even during peak hours on a Saturday night. Ordering a pizza half baked and uncut requires a bit of patience to cook it at home, but makes it *almost* as good as eating at one of their dine-in locations. Still the best pizza I’ve ever had.

Surprised to find that this location has a specific seperate room for take out. Very nice. Has restrooms. Coolers. Seating to wait. Gals were nice and the room itself was well conditioned.

The only Illinois-based restaurant in AZ that has transported me back to the Chicago suburbs! From the first bite of salad to the last bite of pizza (butter crust, of course) every bit as good as any of Lou’s Chicagoland locations. Excellent service, but she, too, was originally from Illinois. Can’t wait to go back!
