Last week, I was staying in Raleigh at the Hampton Inn, which is right around the corner from Armadillo Grill. It was lunchtime and I was super starved, and remembered seeing the Armadillo Grill on my walk around Glenwood Ave the night before. I called them up and just asked if I could place an order so I could run up and get it quickly, as I was working remotely in the hotel room. After talking with a few people (we were making sure what I ordered was gluten-free), they ended up making my meal and Joey hand delivered it to me in my room!!! Talk about service!!! I was overjoyed. I had the chicken nachos and they were amazing! Wonderful people work at the Armadillo Grill and I am so thankful they helped me that day!!! Thank you Joey!!!!

Best tacos in Raleigh and you gotta try their wings too. Fresh pressed flour tortillas make their tacos even better. Great for quick lunch and groups.

There must be cocaine in the queso, It’s soooo good! The team was great! Customer service was Impeccable! Even from the cooks in the open kitchen! Definitely a new regular spot for my family and myself! The woman who took my my order seemed very distant and unprofessional.. but the rest of the experience made made it worth her terrible professionalism. Hopefully this place keeps trucking in the right direction! Definitely worth a visit, especially if Javier and Eva are working!!!

Not what it used to be. I ordered a total of six tacos. The protein was incorrect on half of the tacos and all of them were missing beans all together. The protein that I received did not taste correct. It tasted like they boiled in a pot of water and chopped it up. When I called to make a correction no one picks up the phone anymore. If this is the best you can do now just go ahead and close the doors. I’m a long time Raleigh resident and even prior to living in Raleigh I lived in Chapel Hill and enjoyed the Carrboro location. I remember where they started and I see where they are now. This is embarrassing for armadillo grill.

I didn’t want to believe all the poor reviews because Armadillo Grill has been a favorite of mine since back in the day. I hadn’t visited in probably 10+ years, but boy, has it gone downhill! Stopped in for an early dinner on Sunday, filled out my order form and the girl working the register couldn’t even smile. No greeting, nothing. The prices are ridiculous!! $23 for two tacos, small queso, chips, and drink. And they don’t have a salsa bar anymore, you have to pay for salsa if you want it. The food was blah. No flavor. The fresh tortillas they’ve always been famous for were not fresh tasting and were subpar. Overall the place had a rundown dingy feeling to it. Nothing like the lively, fun, delicious ‘Dillo Grill from days of old. I won’t be coming back, and that saddens me because I live in walking distance.

Okay to start, the staff, the chefs, everyone is so nice. The food is big portions and tastes AMAZING. I grew up in souther Arizona and my mother who I brought with me grew up around SoCal, we both agreed it’s the best Mexican food we’ve had in a decade. The building is an awesome gritty whole in the wall and although that might not be everyone’s cup of tea it’s perfect for me. Everything is homemade and delicious, you can really tell the tortillas are homemade and the chicken wing sauce is some of the best in the state. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Mexican food.

The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had in Raleigh. After paying $60 dollars and leaving a $10 tip, Miss Rosy the manager and her sidekick with the man bun became very disrespectful confusing the young man taking the order who was by the way respectful by yelling across the restaurant talking about the price went up as soon as we came in the door. Then the sidekick proceeded to jump in and make the drinks all wrong and then had an attitude when we told them that it was the wrong drink. Very low class establishment. Customer service at its poorest in North Carolina. PS stop drinking on the job.

First time here, I work down the street and walk by all the time, got the steak nachos. Only good thing was the cheese sauce, nachos were old, steak was cold…… like out of the fridge cold, tasted grilled and had grill marks but it was cold, the nachos would’ve been decent if the steak was fresh
