I used to go to the armadillo in Aurora but they closed several years ago, so took a drive to LaSalle last week to have lunch there. Service, food, and ambience were great! Some of the best green chili I’ve ever had. So glad this one is still around and I will 100% return.

I ordered a breakfast burrito tonight here and was utterly disappointed how small it was for $13.99. Our ticket came to almost $40 and I didn’t even get close to getting full. Really disappointed, beware portions small for the price.

if I could go negitive stars I would I had a shrimp Diablo thing $16 and the shrimp taste like it had mold on it. My mom and dad has shrimp enchilada meal $17. 2 alcohol beverages$6 each and an iced test. the title was $110. when we tried to argue it the guy said that the computer doesn’t lie, and this is your bill.

I’ve been going to the armadillo since I was a small child. The food is great and new ownership has definitely made some much needed changes. However, I have always ordered the same thing, a combo plate. The older woman server (who seems to be a family member or friend of the owner) is the rudest, most condescending person I’ve ever encountered. She literally argued with my cousin about him ordering tacos and was blatantly speaking down to him. It was such a bad experience we nearly left then and there. A couple months go by and I decided to just order take out in the hopes we wouldn’t have to deal with that woman, surprise surprise she is who took my order over the phone. She once again was rude, condescending and was arguing with everything I ordered. I literally order a combo plate with two bean burritos, what is there to argue about?! Seems pretty simple to me. It got to the point where I had to ask if her if she was planning on taking my order or arguing with me, because I could just hang up and take my business elsewhere, to which she quickly changed her tone. Customers should not have to deal with this type of unprofessionalism from one server. Needless to say I haven’t been back, which is saying a lot because my family growing up came here for every birthday, big event etc. Food is great & always has been, but if one person is ruining business for you I’d rethink that quickly as a business owner myself.

Not sure yet how to rank, but will update when I have actually eaten there, so leaving 4 stars, hope to update to 5 soon. We’ve tried Farmers Inn and Don Juan’s. Gave both 5 stars, so if you’re as good or better I will up rating. Just a heads up to management, I entered the restaurant yesterday at 4:01 and it was surreal. Nobody around, even glanced in kitchen. On call so had to run. But a less honest person could have taken advantage.

Took about 30 minutes for food to get to our table. Waitress did not check on table as we were needing refills until our meals were complete. One order was made wrong and we were able to order it correctly and the waitress apologized but we were still charged for the wrong order even though it was not touched.

I’ve heard this restaurant is really good so I decided to take my grandma here for her Birthday. When we came in we ordered, and the waitress was snotty, and there was super slow service. There was no bartender and the food finally came. While we were waiting I decided to finally go to the restroom. Inside it was super smelly, the toilet wasn’t working right and was running. Anyways the food came raw and the queso was watery, and the fries were slimy and gross. The ice cream tasted like frozen soft milk.Overall, the tacos were good.

We love to go there but this time we were ignored. I had ordered mild chili. Told the waitress when she finally came back she wanted to argue. When I thought she was coming back to check on us she shugged us off. We will try it again but if the service is this bad again

My absolute favorite restaurant! Wonderful every time! We drive from over an hour away just for this place. My family and I always make sure to get salsa and queso to take home! It’s a must try for everyone indeed.

i haven’t had armadillo since they left the metro area. i finally decided to bite the bullet and make the hour drive up to try it. and it was just how i remembered it. so good! sucks to know i could only eat a few bites but that’s my issue not there’s! i wish they would return to my area again. but i will make the drive so worth it
