As an Indian vegetarian living in the Midwest, finding authentic Indian food can be a challenge. Unfortunately, Aroma fell short of my expectations. While the restaurant seems to be catering to an American audience, I found the dishes to be lacking in flavor and authenticity. NOTE: I went about a year ago!

My very first time trying Indian authentic food and I love it. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and I would love for guys to go eat and support this restaurant as they are great at providing authenticity. The service was great as the food. A recommendation is to know your taste bud and how much spicy you can handle. The butter chicken tastes delicious. Their lamb were cook well and amazing to taste. I will definitely be going back. Don’t worry, you wouldn’t be paying for the rice because it is free but limited.

I recently visited Aroma Indian Cuisine and Bar in Indianapolis and was blown away by the delicious food. We ordered the Bukhara Dal and Kadhai paneer, and both dishes were amazing. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the portion sizes were generous. The naan was also perfectly cooked and a great accompaniment to the main dishes.

Traveling through Indiana, I was surprised to see Indian food at several gas stations along the highway. Indiana…Indian food…coincidence? Maybe? Regardless, I had it in mind to try some while we were here.

I think it is unethical to add 18% mandatory gratuity to a table of 2 people without communication and not giving an option to change it. I very much understand the staffing shortage and people not giving tips for circumstances outside of staff’s control but it means reducing the frequency of uncontrollable circumstances by taking enough measures. This will leave customers with better experience and Staff with better tips. ( I added extra tip on top of 18% gratuity so money is not an issue, ethics and lack of transparency is. Plus i prefer generous tips by cash as i know it goes to server directly as their property). I am pretty sure Auto tipping is counted as service charge and not counted towards server tip and becomes a restaurant property. Either way, auto gratuity though is lawful, isn’t a fair and ethical practice and overshadows positive dining experience .

Heavenly food despite the long wait. The biryani, Naan, paneer, kofta, and moong daal halwa were so flavorful and finger-licking delicious. The plain interiors got overlooked once the food arrived! Street parking is nearby. Would go again.

One of the best Indian restaurant in Downtown area. My experience with the food for first two time ( A year ago) wasn’t good but last time ( A week ago) was mind blowing. Was very skeptical but the taste was delicious. Presentation is always good but the taste, varieties, flavors and service were best. Highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Indian cuisine. Vegetarian options were amazing. Parking can be challenging during busy hours otherwise no issue. Amanuenses is good.
