I have been going to Aroy Thai since they were located in Allendale. They have been my favorite local restaurant. The quality is always phenomenal and consistent. This is a very unimposing storefront restaurant in Standale that is a hidden gem. I ordered the Curry Pad Thai (medium spice) and Thai iced tea. The flavors were perfect. The spice was not too much for medium level but not so spicey to keep me from trying more spice the next time. The tea was perfect. They need to work on the overall atmosphere but they definitely got the food side of things handled.

Their food is SO good, but I definitely think they need to do a little more of a controlled approach to their spices haha I have gotten “medium” there quite a few times and it varies a LOT, with the most recent experience (yesterday) absolutely destroying my mouth! The food and the flavours were really great. The spice levels are crazy though. I always order medium plus on any pad thai I order. (Around 7 or 8 out of 10). Since this place was new to me, I ordered a medium. (5 out of 10). I could barely eat 3 spoonfuls at a time. It was too spicy. Had my eyes watering at the end of the meal. I eat a lot of spices. I can go upto 9 or even a 10 when I am a little crazy. I cam take spices that make my eyes water. But this was just way too much for a medium level spice.
