If I could give it 10/5 I would with out any doubt. This is a Gem that I never had heard about till about 2 weeks ago. The staff was the most friendly I have seen in a long time.

This place was awesome in two ways…1.) The food tasted phenomenal and the dishes were plenty. 2.) The historical side of the restaurant itself, and eating in a tavern opened in 1908 was just so nostalgic!!! Unfortunately this restaurant is no longer open due to lack of business. I’m certainly going to miss it!

I have heard from friends (and in reading reviews) SOOO many great things about this place! I decided to take my boyfriend here for a special birthday celebration this past Saturday. Unfortunately, as excited as we were to check it out, we were equally disappointed to drive 30 mins only to find a handwritten note on the door that said they are closed “until November due to lack of staff”. I thoroughly read through their website a couple days before we went and was very impressed at the history of this place and eager to try what sounds like a delicious menu! Hours of operation were listed – not only on their website – but also still actively showing OPEN on Google. I’m not saying we won’t try again at a later date, I’m just disappointed that no one thought it important enough to update their google hours or post something to their website letting people know they are currently closed everyday. And when in November are they opening? No specific date was given on the door note. This place survived WWI and WWII and Prohibition and the dairy strike and so much more and their website boasts that “tough times have never closed the doors”. But short staffing did. What a shame.

Fantastic dinning experience my second visit for the 16oz prime rib special cooked to perfection with a nice salad bar, complementary bread and excellent drinks from the bar. The establishment it self has an old time era look and history of the building in pictures along the walls.

I have been going to Art & Alma’s for about 30 years. The food and service have always been excellent.

We drove out from the tri cities to finally try this place after wanting to for 20 years and the country drive is so pretty and relaxing. The restaurant is small and like taking a step through time. Our server was great, everything on the salad bar tasted fresh and homemade, the margarita I ordered was delicious and worth the $10 I paid, and the prime rib we ordered was great. Very sorry I had no room for creme brulee. Will go back, soon.

Outstanding prime rib special on Wednesday. Ribeyes are huge cuts. Ordered the smallest got and it came on it’s own plate it was so big. Salad bar is a great feature too.

A modern day steakhouse menu in an old building in the middle of downtown Burlington. The prices of the food are similar to what you would find at a fancier restaurant downtown Chicago,or even Oak Brook,or Schaumburg. Very dated decor inside. Salad bar was average. Drink menu is standard. The ribeye I ordered was really good.

Amazing food! Such a refreshing experience to have high quality food and varied variety over time! Very quaint little nook with highest quality food around! Absolutely love this place, definitely worth the price! (They also have a bar area). Best fine dining around..
