Sushi was fresh and good but this might not be the place to go if you have dietary restrictions. They talked the talk regarding my wheat allergy but I was sick for two days after eating here. Been wondering if they served me low sodium soy sauce and just said it was gluten free or if the imitation crab California roll has wheat ingredients.

Food was average for a Japanese steak house, nothing special. The main reason for the low rating is the MANDATORY 18% gratuity on ALL ORDERS, even takeout. There is also a ‘convenience fee’ of $1 for online orders, but you can’t even pay online- you have to pay at the restaurant. I’m not sure what is convenient about that. They need to realize that a gratuity is for good service, not a way to shake down your customers for an additional 18%. Won’t be back.

I had lunch here today. The restaurant was empty. I had to ask them to turn on the hibachi grill. They wanted to cook my food in the back of the house. The steak had a funny taste. One hour later I am sick with diarrhea. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. They have attempted a mandatory 18% gratuity in the past.

What a great place to grab some amazing sushi and hibachi. My favorite sushi is the Crazy Shrimp. I have dined in, and ordered their take out at and food is always delicious. I usually choose to sit at a regular table when I just wanted a quick meal. When I want the complete dining experience I opt for a seat at the hibachi grill. Highly recommend.

The only restaurant I know that adds a 15 percent forced gratuity! I ordered a to go meal for my son that was at work and still got charged 15% gratuity tip even though I was dining in with my other 2 children even with all that said… My cook was the best I’ve had! (I forgot to upload back in May when this first happened but can testify that it’s still their policy to add gratuity to your to go orders)

What a gem just outside downtown Delaware. They have wonderful hibachi at a super affordable price with large portions. We had an entire table to ourselves which was nice for our anniversary. We definitely will be back.

Birthday dinner for six– Asahi is a large, clean, well-staffed and family friendly restaurant with professional chefs and servers who kept everyone well attended. One of our party was a 4 yr old granddaughter, and the staff knew exactly how to serve her, plus a beautiful balloon. The chef cooked and served our hibachi food perfectly; from the fried rice to the steak and seafood, it was delicious. I recommend this Delaware gem to anyone who wants great food and fun dining experience.

⭐️One star bc the shrimp was okay. I just left with my food (6/6/23), there was a knat in my miso soup . Salad was just iceberg lettuce. No wonder the restaurant was empty when I arrived for my to go order. Go elsewhere to place without bugs in the food.

I was in Delaware for work and was in the mood for hibachi. I heard great things about this place from friends and had to try it for myself. I started out with the Japanese dumpling which were pretty good. I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi. The portions were very filling. I always order extra fried rice so there’s enough for lunch or dinner the next day. The yum yum sauce here is delicious. My drink was always refilled before I had to order more and the cook was very funny and interactive.
