Everything was great! Not only was the food great but being served by people that seemed happy to be there made the experience feel that much better. I have nothing bad to say. I ordered the duck for my main and it was amazing. Will be back to try the brunch.

This is easily my favorite restaurant for dinner when I’m visiting Midland. The food is unique and delicious. The beef tartare is the best tasting tartare I’ve ever had. The duck confit pasta melted in your mouth. And the drinks are excellent. I’ve had great conversation with the bartender both times I’ve visited.

While the server was wonderful, I can’t give anything but 1 star overall because it was the worst dining experience of both my and my boyfriend’s lives. We went to the taco place across the street immediately after leaving and spending $100. We both sent items back for the first time in our lives; most items were so salty they were inedible. Not like “oh salt makes things taste better” – no it does not when the whole dish tastes like you’re eating a spoonful of salt. We both tried each other’s dishes and agreed. Whoever was working that day, or had prepared the dishes, would surely have agreed as well had they tasted the items. I’m glad to see we’re not the only ones who had this issue. Maybe on other nights the food is good, but that was not our experience. We waited forever for the food, and the beet salad had ingredients missing and was tiny, and not even what was on the plate was tasty. We communicated everything to the very kind waitress and she responded very appropriately. However, we will not be back to “try again” and I need no response from the place, reading the other immature responses they gave to anyone who had anything bad to say. Really maddening, reading those. I wouldn’t have gone at all if I had just read one of those responses beforehand.

Loved our experience at Aster tonight! The food was delicious to say the least. My husband said the waffle fries were the best he’s ever had. We had hush puppies, pea risotto, salad, and chicken sandwich. We would order any of these again! So good, glad they are in midland. Visit, you won’t be sorry!

Had a wonderful dinner tonight. Clean modern atmosphere with some beautiful natural finishes. The staff and chef were very kind and prompt. We had several of there dishes which were delicious and beautifully designed. Also they invested into their plateware so every meal has a different look. I highly recommend visiting them for a fun creative food experience.

First of many visits! Such an inviting atmosphere and the staff was equally inviting and seemed genuinely excited about their work. I can appreciate catering a menu according to the seasons and Aster does a beautiful job with their ingredients. From the host to the bartender to the wait staff, everyone was great. Had our one year old with us and they had nonslip place mats and sippy cups ready without us even asking. Fiancé and I said this feels like we are being catered to at home. I have already recommended to a few friends! Can’t wait to see what the menu holds in the future.

Brunch today was our second meal here in 2 days. We are hooked! Knowing that most of Evan’s ingredients are organic & locally sourced is what brought us in on Friday to begin with. We came back today because that first meal was outstanding!!
