This place was amazing… next time I come to the Houston area I plan on coming back. The food was great, the staff were polite and professional. Would recommend!

One of Websters hidden gems. Everything is home made and fresh. I’ve tried two different soups. I have also tried three other plates with carne asada, steak, and a pork chops. Tortillas made from scratch. The bean and rice combo is a safe bet. Healthier options are also available but I don’t normally take that route.

I like to try new places to eat when I travel, so when I saw the sign reading “ATITLAN – Guatemalan Food”, I had to check it out.

Buyer BEWARE! We ordered about $17 worth from their small plate menu. Everything had a nice presentation, but tasted just okay. When we went to check out, we were told our total was $30 flat. I told them that was too much according to the menu, in which they responded that the prices had went up. These days that is understandable, but it is unacceptable when the menu you hand your customers says otherwise and you don’t notify them upfront. According to them, every item we ordered nearly doubled in cost. I asked to see an itemized receipt and they said they couldn’t give me one. Ridiculous. I handed them $20 cash, said Thank you, and left.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to a human, but to non-human I would. This place was horrible. Ordered a chicken quesadilla, it came with brown lettuce at no extra charge, bland chicken with many tendons sprinkled in and cheese. Seriously, really terrible. Go to mamacitas.

On our first visit (July 2018), the man who served us did a wonderful job. On our second visit (Sep. 5), the lady who served us did just an okay job. It seems service-wise, they’re inconsistent. However, the meals have consistently been satisfying and full of flavor. And the price was easy on the wallet. The specialty beverages were good and has the right sweetness (I had the vanilla Creme). The menu is simple and easy to order from. The servers speak good English. They accept credit cards, including AMEX. There’s ample parking being that this is in a strip mall. And it’s near Half Price Books and other shops & businesses.

I’ve never had specialized Guatemalan food before. It was all very tasty. We experimented with things we’ve never had before and everything was very well prepared and flavorful. Some of the flavor combinations I hadn’t had before. The restaurant was very clean and there was a steady stream of patrons getting to go orders while we are there lunch time on a Sunday.
