I have been going to the China Wok for 15 + years and have never experienced bad service or bad food. Everything is clean and well organized. This obviously is more of a take-out establishment, so don’t expect five-star seating. The owners always ask after my family, as I do theirs, so rudeness is something I’ve never felt. I’ve never had undercooked chicken or tasteless dishes. On the contrary, you can ask for spicier General Tso’s, which tends to be on the crispy side; very delicious, my whole family loves it. They will tailor other dishes to your liking, if desired. The sweet and sour chicken is one of my favorites, as it is also crispy. The wonton soup is always fresh and soothing. The egg rolls are hands down the best I’ve ever had from any place. I’m also always pleasantly surprised when I branch out and try other dishes. Please don’t let the other commentaries deter you, this is a nice family run restaurant with good people and great soul food.

The delivery took over an hour! It’s insane, I could walk there in less time! When the food arrived, the Wonton soup had spilled and collected at the bottom of the bag, soaking the rest of our order. The quality of the food was also bad! Hardly any meat in our combo orders and our “fried” dumplings were cold and soggy. Will never order from this place again!

I can not say anything about the take out service but, in terms of the food menu, I have never been disappointed with the quality of their food. I probably have ordered over the years about 20 different dishes. Their prices are reasonable and portions generous. Only complaint is that sometimes the egg rolls are a bit greasy and quality of beef, on occasion, was a bit chewy. Everything else was quite tasty.

I go to the China Wok on an irregular basis for many years; I’ll get take out once a week for several weeks and then not go for several months. No real reason except I get in my Chinese ‘moods’ sometimes. What I have had is good; as a matter of fact I like their food better than most other Chinese restaurants in town. I like their pork fried rice, their egg rolls and wonton soup. Haven’t really ordered much else, but the food is good. I haven’t had to wait too long for my take out and I can’t really complain about the service. I would not want to eat in however; it is really more just for take out as other reviewers have mentioned. The prices are very reasonable as well. If you want to go to a more fancy place to eat in, then try the Ni Hao in the Giant plaza, but you will pay about double what you would at the China Wok. In summary, do not let the other negative reviews deter you from trying this place.

My boyfriend and I went there for their lunch buffet. The place was incredibly dirty. There were only a couple of tables that weren’t covered in dirty dishes. They had a child running the cash register, and there was zero service once we paid for the buffet and sat down. And the food was the most disgusting Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. It came out of the steamer trays cold, and most of it tasted like congealed grease. The only moderately edible thing on the buffet was the General Tso’s chicken, and when I cut a rather large piece in half, I found that it was undercooked and pink in the middle. My boyfriend and I both had a stomach ache for the rest of the day from eating there. I know the cost is cheap, but do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where you don’t run the risk of food poisoning.

I’ve ordered from here for years, but I’m done. Their food is the McDonald’s of Chinese, but I always felt it was worth it, since it was cheap and they offered free wontons with a 15 dollar purchase through OrderUp.

I wish I could give them no stars at all. I waited two hours for my order and the delivery driver never even showed. I called after and hour and they said that the delivery driver was on his way. I put the address of my dorm and they told me that I put the wrong address and that after two hours the delivery driver would be another 35-45 minutes because I put the wrong address (????????????) a) my address was correct and b) it doesn’t even take 30 minutes to get from China Wok to east halls so I don’t understand why that time was added. The delivery driver then proceeded to hang up on me. I called and complained and asked if they would discount my meal for the poor service. They refused and needless to say I will never again order from China Wok.

The best Chinese food in SC after Big Bowl. When i first ordered fried rice from them it was super pale and im used to yellow colored fried rice but when i tasted it, it was so good! & I know good Chinese food being from NY. They are kind also. I really do love this place. Food is on point!

I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AS LONG AS I LIVE. First off, the delivery almost took TWO HOURS to get ‘here’. And to make it even better, THEY DIDN’T EVEN COME TO MY DORM. I had to walk the whole way across my dorm area’s courtyard to pick up my food, in the freezing cold. Obviously I wasn’t dressed to take a trip across the courtyard, since I ORDERED DELIVERY. Also, they did not give us any forks with our food! So once again, I had to take a trip out in the freezing cold to grab some forks. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD.

Worst experience I have ever had with delivery. It took over an hour and a half to get to me. They didnt give me napkins or utensils. The juices from my sub-par ho fun noodles leaked through the bag and spilled on me. Do yourself a favor and dont order here.
