I’ve been going to Avalanche Pizza for 14 years and they absolutely the best pizza I’ve ever had. I don’t live in Athens anymore, but anytime I come back to visit I have to get a pizza from Avalanche. The basil pesto and jalapeño dipping sauces are also fantastic. Anytime pizza comes up in conversation I talk about Avalanche and how much I miss being able to order from there anytime. Glad to see that they are still going strong and surprised (but pleased) they opened up the Slice House.

Wow!! This pizza is a moster! I can normally eat 4-6 pieces, I had 3 and I’m gonna pop! It’s loaded with toppings, the sauce is delicious, the cheese is buttery smooth and the veggie toppings are fresh, and that crust is the beat I’ve ever had. Thanks guys and gals at Avalanche Pizza. Keep up the good work. I’ll be here till November working and this will not be my only time having pizza from Avalanche.

Where can you find a New York thin crust pizza? Not here. The crust thick and bland the sauce just as. The owners should spend some time in NY and go to a few of the 100s of pizza places and learn. Sorry…the truth. Also $25 for a NYpizza in Athens? I’d spend that in NY in a heartbeat.

I ordered from this place because I was sent a coupon in the mail. When I looked at the menu I was pleasantly surprised by the large variety of toppings to choose from. Then I saw the list of really great looking specialty pizzas, and it was awesome. Not your ordinary takeout pizza, it was definitely on a different level. By far some of the best pizza I’ve gotten in a long time. The jalapeno poppers are really good too, they are made with dough instead of breading. I really like how they source what ingredients they can locally, you could tell that everything was really fresh.
