Order the steak & eggs with a side of avocado. The food & portions were good, even the side was a good portion. I recommend asking about the house salsa.

The Avenue Cafe usually has a long line out the door so we have been eager to try it. We arrived early to find a charming interior complete with stone fireplace and walls covered with local art for sale. The outside patio also looked wonderful. The service was outstanding and the price reasonable for a touristy area. The food was a bit disappointing. The smoked salmon Benedict arrived with cooked salmon and the hash browns were mushy. Might be my first time ever not wanting to finish hash browns. Still, the rest of our food was decent and the atmosphere and service are worth the trip.

I’ve always loved a nice breakfast at the Avenue Cafe. It’s a small cozy space with quick service. I’m a sucker for two eggs over easy with bacon and hash browns, English muffin on the side.

Cute spot right on the corner as you enter Capitola Village. The Carnitas & Southern Benedict’s are so good! We also got a full stack of buttery pancakes. Will stop in again!

We were treated well here; the food (breakfast) was great; this side of town has terrible parking (a short strip of street parking). The rest is permit only parking. But that is not just their problem. I think it’s also a problem for all businesses in this area.

Avenue Cafe, at 427 Capitola Ave. in the Capitola village, is a delightful, gleaming restaurant set in a 100-year-old house. It’s located about two blocks from the Capitola Beach.

If you want good food, good service, good homely ambiance in a small cozy setting – this is the place. To top it off – the smile on the two ladies is infectious – you know that they enjoy what they are doing!

Came here with my family on a Thursday for brunch and we got outdoor seating right away! We ended up getting the smoked salmon Benedict and I personally really loved the fresh taste of the salmon! The sauce and the avocado also added to the nice taste of the dish, and the hash browns were decent but a little on the less crunchy side. The portion sizes were small but good for one person to be satisfied. The service was a little slow and we didn’t get some things unless we asked twice.
