My car unfortunately broke down and I’ve been having to stay in Hays for a couple days. I decided I really wanted to go to this A&W, because I had never been before. The service was disrespectful. Since I didn’t have my car and the lobby was closed, I decided to walk through the drive-thru (there were no cars behind me) This was understandably a liability, so they invited me inside. There I was instantly told by (I think) their manager that I couldn’t be there and that they couldn’t serve me. This was my second attempt to go here, as I first went there the night before, but they closed 10 mins early. I totally understand closing 5 minutes early, but closing 10 minutes early and not even telling me that you’re closing while I stand there for 5 with no communication is a bit frustrating. I totally understand not wanting to tolerate someone’s weird inclination to walk to an A&W, due to being bored out of their minds for having no car in an unwalkable part of the city, but I at least expect some respect when it comes to refusing my business.

Absolutely gross! We walked in and went to the restroom first. There was toilet paper, trash, and feces everywhere. The floors were disgusting, customer service was super rude. I would give this zero stars if I could. After my family and I started to order, we decided to just leave and cancel all of our orders. It was not worth it. We did tell the workers that the restaurant and bathrooms were gross, and needed cleaned. They said they were short staff and would clean when they had time. Would not recommend.

Restaurant is a combo A&W and Long John Silvers. I live on the east coast and hadn’t had LJS in years. Unfortunately my fish was overcooked and/or had been sitting in the window for a long time. The clam strips, hushpuppies, and coleslaw were just how I remembered…yummy. LJS was my 1st job back in 1992 so it is all about nostalgia for me.

Just ordered and it took FOREVER to even be talked to in drive thru. Only customer in the drive thru or even in the building. No large drinks. No card machine, and didnt tell us until we went to pay. Couldn’t hear her at all at the drive thru. Ordered a Pepsi and got a diet. After waiting for about 10 min for them to take our order we have waited 30 min AFTER paying for our food. We would have left but we paid and she never came back to the window. 40 min wasted on our driving. And our order is wrong. We warned the person behind us to go somewhere else

Went to this location while traveling. Spent 8 minutes at the window waiting for our order. Not only was not hot and freshly cooked but they left off one piece of fish on a two piece, and the fries were soggy. The root beer was not good either. We were very disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch and the restaurant was super gross. The soda machine had no ice and the cashier was super rude about getting me and my friends ice. The bathrooms were nasty. People were waiting 20 minutes or more for their food so we ended up getting a refund and going else where. Terrible!!

So we went to A&w today and ordered a meal and a gallon of root beer. The guy said it would take about 10 minutes to make, we said that was fine. They pulled the ingredients out and placed them on the counter. 20+ minutes later they bring us our food, tell us that they don’t have the root beer mix (which was a lie because it was sitting on the counter for twenty minutes ). Dude does a refund. My girlfriend discovered a hole in her ice cream cup. Ordered a bacon double, lettuce and other ingredients weren’t even on the burger. No bacon.
