Overall a great space, unfortunately we spilled both our drinks (hot drinks in a tall glass rather then a coffee mug and the other was in a paper cup when they clearly had coffee mugs in the sizes I ordered and we stated it was to stay) in full right when we got them due to the chairs we were sitting in being a bit wobbly and a bee really wanting our food. I told the front staff and they didn’t offer to re do our drinks. So I ended up paying for a second set which came the same way. I know I’m not entitled to a free replacement, but most establishments offer to replace spilled drinks immediately. Indoor space echoed, but outdoor space was lovely. Drinks weren’t mixed well and all the chocolate was on the bottom. Great environment, food was good.

I had heard about this place and decided to check it out. The owners are very nice and community oriented. The coffee was good, I definitely recommend the hazelnut cold brew. They have a nice outdoor seating area and also serve alcohol. Such a little gem of a place. I will be back. Check them out when you’re cruising through Oak Grove!

Ann and her team start my mornings off on the right foot, I don’t know what I would do without this charming community hub. The coffee is top notch (I recc. an iced peppy latte, yum) and the service is lightening quick, they knew my order within a week of my discovering Awakening. Awakening really feels like more than just a cafe, it’s a little piece of community and we so appreciate Ann for all her hard work in the revitalization of the historic Oak Grove neighborhood.

When my sister suggested we get coffee from this back alley window in her neighborhood I was like sure… I trust your judgement. Aside from a cafe we did not enter, they have a large beautifully planted patio with hanging lights, space heaters and a water bowl for the dog. Clearly run and operated by people who care about their space. Located off away from the main drag along a street with ample bike lanes. My only complaint is the espresso was very strong and now I have to write google reviews to burn off this excess of caffeine in my system.

I went in there for the first time in years, and the experience was so heart warming and inviting! They’ve expanded since then, and the atmosphere is just awesome! I ordered an Iced Mocha to go, and OMG, it was the best mocha I’ve ever consumed in my whole life! Hands down will go there again, and I definitely recommend heading over there yourself to enjoy all they have to offer!

This coffee shop is an disappointment in this neighborhood with the negative attitude of these owners. I order my coffee and waited 10 minutes for my order with my small dog less than 15 pounds. We were standing by the door, we were minding our own business. Almost 10 minutes later the owner said I had to wait outside in the freezing cold and rain for my order . On Main Street they put up an sign stating this is a dog friendly place. I was so upset by the false marketing I wanted a refund but the owner refused & it was too late . I wouldn’t come here ever again.
