Eager to soak up the last few rays of sunlight left in the frigid week, I decided to take an icy rollerblade run to downtown Griffith. Gliding past the rock star lineup of small businesses which have made this strip of Broad Street a hotspot all around the Region, I happened to stumble upon a cozy restaurant I’ve never seen before. In front of the establishment was a charming, homemade sign simply reading “[heart] Tacos Stop Here” and framed in the window was a large banner with the words “Ay Chihuahuas Mexican Food.”

Where do I begin? I am very pleased with every aspect of my experience at Ay Chihuahuas! I am visiting from out of town and I always venture out and try local restaurants. Tamales are delicious and the rice is the way rice should be! The salsa is PERFECT! Tres leches cake is amazing! The owner was absolutely adorable! Great food, great service, great people!!! A must try!

Alex is a character in a very good way! Came here to get a burrito to continue my burrito quest. By far the lowest priced burrito for the large size one you get here. In 9 years of getting burritos I have never heard ‘ Sit down, I am going to make it fresh for you’. Only one complaint, I wish she would chop the steak finer. This is my new place to’ reset’ after I have had a bad burrito.

I went on Taco Tuesday. Wonderfully authentic food! Very nice people, good atmosphere. Small sit down area,25-30 seats. They take cash or card. Located right next to SciFi Donuts, Angel Hair Salon, before the tracks southbound. Totally recommend!

It was our first time trying Ay Chihuahua and it’s by far the best Mexican food I’ve ever had paired with the upmost customer service. I’m blown away from our experience tonight. The owner Alex, is so kind and has an amazing energy about her. Everything is made fresh to order with the freshest ingredients. You can tell she pours a whole-lotta love into her cooking. You must try. It will not disappoint!
