Authenticatic Japanese cuisine. Sushi is on the expensive side. Excellent service. Cozy place, only one bathroom for all guests.

Riea at the bar was knowledgeable and experienced! Everything was amazing from food, ambiance, to beverages. Most of all the service, however, was what pushed the experience to the next level! Thank you riea and staff, see you soon!

We had the worst dinner experience tonight at Sushi Azabu. We ordered two sushi nigiri sets which came with the toro hand roll. The toro in my hand roll has two FISHBONES in it which I have never would have happened in a high end sushi place. We were very very upset and the waitress first said they can offer us matcha ice cream, then she said she will ask her manager again. Later, she came back and said the manager said only will give us a 15% discount on my set which we ended up paying $200+ with a low quality meal.

Rating is based on the price of omakase, $180. For that price, the food, service & atmosphere was underwhelming. If they charged ~$100, it’d be 5 stars, but the omakase was good but not $180 good. The best was the seared salmon & sashimi, and almond mochi. The fish had no fishy taste for the most part, which I appreciated. Service was fine but it was hard to understand the waiter and the atmosphere was rated lower because the chairs weren’t comfortable. As a result of all these mediocre hits, the ultimate rating is 2/5. This omakase was supposedly amazing based on Reddit but I’ve come to realize that Reddit’s ratings aren’t that accurate.

Came here on a Friday night for nigiri omakase. Enjoyed the meal a lot. Shari had good level of acidity and not overly sweet, temperature was just right. The neta (toppings) were seasonal and prepared very well. Service was impeccable and tips is included. The restaurant itself is cosy and would be great choice for a date. Minor gripe is that the size of each piece of sushi was on the small side, and makes it feel less satisfying when you put a piece in your mouth. This is common in NYC though, so I think it’s an NYC thing.

What an utter waste of money. $900 and for what? All the dishes were mediocre at best. Boring, uninspired. Really just average. Also, we never saw a sushi chef in the restaurant. Not exactly sure where they’re preparing the sushi – if this sushi had been exceptional (and for $900 it really should have been), I’d have overlooked the fact that the sushi chef was nowhere in sight, but the fact that there was no sushi chef/bar as far as we could see really makes me question if this was some sort of elaborate hoax where they have a cook in the back preparing “sushi” for unsuspecting diners who are fooled into thinking the sushi is amazing.

Loved it! Multiple Omakase menus to choose from. Intimate wooden interior. Definitely prefer the counter for two diners however a table for three or more is recommended.
