Since I moved to San Antonio, Texas almost two months ago, I wanted to try Azro Authentic Afghan Cuisine. It’s run by an Afghan family. Great ambience, presentation of food excellent, the friendliness of the owner himself and his son was authentic Afghan hospitality. The food tasted great. I ordered Qabuli Pilaf and Eggplant dish on the side. They served the food with a freshly baked loaf of bread from the Tandoor.

For the price it was definitely not worth it , paid full price even though we didn’t take any rice with either dish (we didn’t want to waste as we already had rice with us) , yet still they skimp out on the portion size.

Excellent halal food in San Antonio. On a Thursday lunch hour, the place was not crowded. We had mixed kabobs and Kabuli Biryani. Both were great. The lamb was perfect. We also got a naan, which was exceptionally good. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious. Must try items are the kabuli pulao and the chapli kabab. The service and atmosphere was good as well. The only thing holding this place back from a 5 star review is the portion size which was way too small. Menu items are priced too high for how much food you get.
