While in Arlington a lot of folks recommended Babes. I knew I wanted to try the catfish and I was not disappointed! It was some of the best catfish I’ve ever had. The biscuits were buttery and delicious. I’m going to think about those biscuits for a long time. I loved the sweet and sour dressing on the very simple salad, but I’m not complaining. So good. I didn’t like the white gravy, but the corn, mashed potatoes, and green beans were fabulous. I went by myself but didn’t get anxiety because the atmosphere at lunch on a Wednesday wasn’t busy. I was glad to have visited. Best meal while in the city. I felt for the amount of food, price was perfect.

Some of the best fried chicken and home cooking I’ve had. We went on Father’s Day so I’m unsure if the entertainment was special for that or a regular thing. I posted a video of the staff doing the Hokey Pokey, that was fun. Our server was attentive and really sweet. Amazing biscuits (try the sorghum!) and mashed potatoes and gravy. It’s definitely an experience.

What a wonderful experience… Babe’s Chicken Dinner House, is definitely an dining establishment worth a return visit! Not only is the atmosphere catchy and interestingly inviting, but the food options / selections are plentiful and set to suit the taste buds of most people in any dinner / supper party!

Great place! We ordered the chicken fried steak, fried chicken, & chicken tenders (portions are huge & definitely shareable) – all of them were so good! The sides (mashed potatoes, gravy, cream corn, salad, fresh biscuits) were also good (not the best sides I’ve ever had, but they were pretty standard) & I love that they’re unlimited. My only complaint was that the green beans were very salty. Otherwise, this was a very enjoyable meal!

Babe’s is one of the best restaurants in Texas. The vibe is great, the food is fantastic, service is always friendly and top notch. Meals are family style, so it’s naturally a great place for groups of family or friends. You’ll leave happy, and full for sure. They’ve honestly got the best fried chicken I’ve ever had, but all the proteins are great. FYI, they don’t serve alcohol. However, they are BYOB, so bring your favorite drink with you.

I didn’t know what to expect walking into babes. It’s a family style eating experience. The waiter made it simple for all of us; 5 meats, biscuits, salads, and sides. We ordered all five meats. My favorite was actually the chicken tenders. Decent sized and crispy. Everything else just reminded me of your local buffet restaurant. My dad complained that the country fried steak was chewy. I wasn’t too impressed with the smoked chicken either. If they added a baked or smothered chicken in the future, I would visit again. But if you have a big family and like southern style food, maybe this place is for you.
