We were able to go inside at 4 p.m. and the buffet was ready at 430. Absolutely delicious seafood with warm and iced boiled shrimp, fried fish, stuffed shrimp, good coleslaw, and the dessert was just as good. We ate peach cobbler and banana pudding. I only gave it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement but I was not disappointed and had a great family dinner with great service and a home style family environment. And thanks for not making us wait in this summer heat while preparing the buffet!

Service was good but food could be better. Fried fish and fried shrimp were real good. Lemon pepper fish didn’t taste right, maybe sitting too long not sure but we arrived after 7pm, stuffed crabs & shrimp were gummy and don’t taste right, maybe their supplier. And they need a salad bar and turnip greens. We eat at the fish house at Union for the exact same price and it includes salad, turnip greens etc. Don’t care for sitting on those hard benches, thsnk goodness had some chairs. Overall kinda disappointing, sorry. Not being mean just hope this helps.

This is a great place to eat if you like fried fish. When you come down Sunday, you get there before 130. Because they stopped putting fish out around that time. Everything is included in the price. Your drink, your meal, and your dessert.

Food was amazing even though it was take out. We both got the seafood platter but I got boiled shrimp and he got fried and both were great. Sweet tea was tasty. Pictures were after we both ate some and missing in the pictures are another box with fish and hush puppies. super friendly staff as well.

First things first, upon entering the door my wife and I were warmly greeted and immediately led to a hand sanitizing station. In these times it was a welcome sight to see them taking safety seriously. Now on to the food. My wife and I partook in the seafood buffet which was very good in my opinion. The fried catfish (whole and strips) was very fresh as were the fried shrimp. The buffet also featured fried frog legs, boiled shrimp (hot and cold), baked fish, chicken tenders and a wide assortment of sides and other dishes that I was not able to try before I reached my personal limits. Our server was very nice and kept up stocked with drinks, condiments as well as conversation. Overall the food was good and there was a nice variety. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting and safety measures were in place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I truly enjoyed our outing at The Back Forty restaurant and will definitely be going back in the future.
