My 1st time there. I picked up a pulled pork sandwich to go. It was a huge amount of lean smoked pork. Very yummy. The sweet sause was good too. The people were friendly and fast. Highly recommended based on this visit.

I hate leaving a bad review, I can generally find something redeeming everywhere I go, but when it comes to Backwoods in Iva I have to be brutally honest. We ordered 2 of the BBQ sandwiches, and the meat was totally unable to be eaten, it was not minced BBQ but thick cut chunks, not sliced, and it was horrible. There was no way to eat it in a sandwich, because it was hard, and extremely fatty and tough. Most of it was just hard fat and gristle. So 90% of it was thrown away, and the Mac and cheese was like a block of dried up noodles and cheese that looked and tasted like it was several weeks old. It did not even taste like Mac and cheese. The fries we had were cold and undercooked, they were small fries that we both like but they tasted raw and reheated. We paid over $55 for our meal and I must say we could not have been more disappointed in what we were given as a meal. My daughter and son live near Iva and we got our order to go so it’s not like we had to go far before eating it.

My family, and my son especially has never been treated this disrespectful. The staff they have their laughs at people when they explain what is wrong with the meal, they kept laughing to hard to have a conversation.

First time in and pleasantly surprised. ALL our food was hot and fresh. Brisket is really good as is the pulled pork. Fries, mac n cheese, cole slaw, baked beans…all good. Looking forward to our next visit

They have the best bbq and wings love this place and have to brag on the customer service we were missing a plate when we got home and they offered to deliver it to us even though they were closed! We will definitely be back! Thank you Backwoods BBQ
