Jumped off of I-78 in Hamburg and was looking for a decent place to eat. Lots of fast food joints (Micky D’s, Wendy’s, etc.) stuff we are not really into. Also now a days you can come out of Mickey D’s with no change to your $50. Googled Backwoods Bros and decided to take a chance being as it was a little out of the way and off of the main drag. It’s really a plain Jane looking place, but don’t let that fool you. Food and service is a 10 out of 10. My wife, myself and grandson all went for the pull pork sandwich. A first for our grandson and he loved it. My wife and I like to think of ourselves as pulled pork connoisseurs and we were not disappointed. Great sandwich that was overflowing with pork. Three different BBQ sauces provided with the meal. One cool thing, which I should have taken a picture of, is the cups our drinks came in had inspirational sayings written on them by the owner. Cool beans. Service was impeccable and talked with the owner for a bit. Really felt comfortable eating there. A family owned restaurant…something that is disappearing from the American landscape as fast food garbage crowds them out. Go while you can and enjoy food that tastes special.

Was brought in by a local where he had the food recently at a catered golf event. Well I’m pleased we stopped by, I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was really good. The service was exceptional and cutting off the tip of the chill bbq sauce was genius!! When I come back to Hamburg I will be visiting backwoods again!!

Stopped in for lunch in NYE, what a pleasant surprise. I had the brisket and it was amazing. They make their own BBQ sauce as well and it was so good I bought some to go. Owners mom was working and was very friendly and engaging. We will definitely go back!

Hands down THE best brisket sandwich I have had in my entire life. You will not be disappointed if you come here!! I would posted a picture of it but I ate it too fast! Next time! They have fair style fries that are seasoned to perfection!

First time here at it was AMAZING! The staff was sooo pleasant on the phone (and in person) , my order was ready when I got there! And it was excellent did a sampling of all the meats and nothing disappointed! Ribs were my favorite by far!!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. It’s a shame that COVID messed up the ability to go out more because the food is delicious. I ordered pulled pork sandwich plate with Mac and cheese, fries, and cole slaw. The BBQ sauce comes on the side, but the portions are not skimped at all! Great portions, so much pork on the sandwich that you could make two. The pork came a little crispy which I also prefer but it is still juicy in the rest of it that wasn’t. The Mac and cheese was really good and had a lot of flavor. I’m not usually a Cole slaw person, but theirs was absolutely delicious. Definitely try this place out when you get the chance! (Dr Pepper not included in the order! Lol!)

Happened to be in the area and took a chance – so glad I did! Just had lunch on Tuesday, the brisket sandwich and fries. The brisket was phenomenal, and the fries were wonderful. If I were to nit pick I would say the fries could have been a tad bit crispier, but there were still so delicious I ate them all. And that brisket, oh my it was so good! And super friendly folks too!

Ordered the brisket with Mac and cheese and I think they were jalapeño corn fritters. The brisket was good, it was a good portion of it. The fritters were also very good. The Mac and cheese was one of the worst I had though, it had a chemical taste to it. My fiance got the pulled pork sandwich, it was good, but a little on the dry side. She got macaroni salad with hers which was good. The interior wasn’t the cleanest, the floors were sticky. Overall, I would say it was average, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here.
