As a regular costumers, we usually order the same. Today was not different: Keperi and Falso. We were expecting the same delicious food that we ordered on 04/02. OMG! that Keperi was absolutely delicious, like butter in the mouth, not overpower with garlic. The Falso sauce, was delicious too, very well cooked (you can taste when the aji, its not fully done) and the chuno, with the exact amount of peanut sauce. The beef was so tender, that you don’t need a knife. Today the food was just ok. The keperi not tender at all. The Falso beef has the same issue. And I have the impression, that one beef of the Falso was made with yellow aji, and the other one in red aji. You can taste a little bit raw in the red sauce. Please cook the same way you did on April, 2nd. You show that you can do better. Please!

I ordered the breaded steak with fried eggs on top. It comes with 4 slices of potato, white rice, and pico de gallo. The steak was chewy and inedible. This is seriously bad steak. I was surprised that steak that skinny was so chewy (see pic). The potato slices were rubbery and the pico de gallo tasted stale. I have a feeling that none of it was fresh. And the flan was not good at all, too watery. Very disappointed. I’ll never come back.

The saltenas are excellent. Customer service needs to improve. The cashier is usually very rude. She was mad that I ordered 5 saltenas and told me to call ahead next time which is very reasonable but the tone could improve.

I tried this hidden gem on Friday for breakfast. I was able to order the fried fish with my vegetable omelet and it was so delicious. The service is wonderful. My husband had the chorizo omelet he also was delighted with his meal.

This is the 2nd time I’ve eaten here in several years. The first time I had the buttered Trout, and it was delicious! So buttery and tender. Everytime I think of this place, I would think of how yummy the fish was. Today, I came back for the fish, but decided to get the Tuesday’s special, Paella. It has a nice balance of meat and rice. I has mussles, tiny clams, calamari, shrimp, sausage, and chicken. The rice was a little more moist than I prefer and I am ok with the seasoning used. I don’t see myself ordering it again… But definitely the Trout next time. The staff seems more quiet and reserved, but they did their job well. The restaurant appears to be clean. They even gave me and a couple of patrons a small slice of cake. I excited because I have been staring at their cakes and am wondering how they will taste. The cake was moist and has a lot of flavor. The icing melted in my mouth. The little slice is plenty for me after the big plate of Paella. I got a table by the window and the sun was shining in. The waitress was so thoughtful and lowered the shades without me asking… I didn’t even think to lower the shade because the sun wasn’t shining on my, just my table. I didn’t finish my food, and the waitress was so helpful offered me a container to take my food even though I wasn’t planning on taking it. She cleared my table as I enjoy the free cake. One of the reviewers mentioned a 20% tip added to the order. That didn’t happen to me. Maybe for large orders or group? Overall, I have a great experience. Will come back again… Sooner than several years

The bread has always been golden brown, now for some reason they’ve been selling burnt bread for several months. They taste slightly bitter and incredibly dry because of it. Sad to say I will be switching to a Colombian cafe I found near by with similar baked goods.

Go here every morning for breakfast, and after two days, the staff was already calling it the usual. Friendly folks and finely fried home fries are the key takeaways – don’t sleep on the breakfast burrito either.

Don’t let the unassuming name hide this restaurant from you! The bakery counter offers traditional South American breads and a variety of desserts; none of which have disappointed me. The menu is broad, but I’d recommend staying within the South American specialties – those definitely showcase their best work. After they introduced me to Salteñas I’ve been hooked!
